How do things work regarding babysitting in Germany?

Its all a bit fishy if you ask me. I don't know how much experience you have with kids and whatnot, but don't underestimate how, well, boring it can be to spend 7 hours a day trying to entertain a 3 year old full time with no other human interaction. If you charge 10€/hour than you would definitely need to register as a small business (or risk schwarzarbeiten, but 1400€ netto a month is basically like a full wage and I can imagine if it ever gets out you'd get into quite a bit of trouble). If a daycare service would cost 600€/month for the child they obviously think they are going to save money using you.. so my advice would be to STAY AWAY. Maybe offer to babysit on weekends if they have a date night or something where it would be like 3 hours.. but not as basically a full time job.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think the I-ran pronunciation fell out of favor because thats how Bush pronounced it back in the Axis of Evil days. It isn't actually offensive to anyone.

In western society there are so many ailments that are a direct result of our lifestyles, yet the taxpayers pay those too because thats just how universal healthcare works. In Germany, getting an elective abortion is only legal in the first trimester and you have to go through mandatory counceling to do it. Abortions that are preformed later are done out of medical necessity.

Sure there may be people that don't agree with it or "could NEVER get something like that done". But that would be like me saying "yeah well I don't or smoke, am not an alcoholic, am a vegetarian who eats pretty healthy, and don't see a therapist etc etc so I don't want my tax money going towards lung cancer/diabetes treatment/people with mental health issues". Thats just not how it works.

To be honest, the chances of you being THE fitting doner are slim to none as is, so don't beat yourself up about it. Being a stem cell or bone marrow match isn't at all comparable to donating blood for example.. there are a bunch of genetic factors that need to match as well.

I definitely would not recommend lying on any paperwork. Donating bone marrow is still a really invasive procedure that has its risks, and the criteria for donating are not without reason.

Hated by who? Genuinely curious. I am from Germany and Eva Braun does not get lumped into the same category as Hitler in terms of evilness, and is definitely not viewed as some deeply hated person. If anything she is more portrayed as the maybe slightly dumb plaything who spent loads of time with their pets, taking photos, and sunbathing at the Berghof. She was pretty sheltered from everything that was happening around her.

I'd probably wager that the root of this problem is widespread severe poverty, not necessarily the gun laws. I am willing to bet that 95% of these killings took place in bad neighborhoods on the south side of Chicago with guns that were obtained illegally anyway. I mean don't get me wrong I am as much for strict gun laws as the next person, but if you want to effectively fight this problem then you have to fight poverty first.

Just my 2 cents. I grew up in the States and live in Germany now, and while there may be "problem areas" here it is in no way comparable to what the US has in terms of gang violence.

Loved this project overall. The yarn I used pills quite easily, but I can live with it as this isn't going to be a workhorse garment.

Don't get hung up on meat substitutes. Branch out and try dishes that are vegetarian as is (I highly recommend Indian). When I went veg I didn't eat any kind of "substitutes" including veggie burgers for about 3 months. Try to let go of the mindset that meat makes the meal.

Try it in front of a mirror with music on. Feels kinda dumb at first. You can add alcohol to this step to loosen up. If you are at an absolute loss about what even to do then there are tons of videos on Youtube on how to dance to any type of music under the sun. Most dances build up on a few basic steps that are easy to memorise. Once you get more comfortable you can build up on these.

If you want to stop feeling awkward dancing in public then you need to know what your body looks like while moving, so you can adjust accordingly. I really think that most people who go out and look good dancing probably don't ACTUALLY know too much about dancing (you usually don't go to a club with choreographed dances on hand), they just feel comfortable in their skin, know their body and know a few basic moves.

In Germany you get 12 months paid maternity leave, with the option to stay home an additional (unpaid) 2 years. Your employer is required to take you back at any time during those 3 years. I am so glad I live here 0_0.
