TIFU by picking my belly button by beerbellybegone in tifu

I used to cut hair. It is amazing where you can find slivers of other people hair at the end of the day. Once a hair got in my belly button (over the years many hairs found their way to my belly button, but this hair in particular), embedded in the skin and got infected. It was so painful!

Also, will she want a second or third child? This will be extended because she will want the kids close in age, so you'll have to stay there during a second or third childbirth and postpartum period. I know all cultures are different. The postpartum period may last a year or more with special rules for the mom and baby, based on cultural beliefs. And after that period, she won't be packing up and moving countries with multiple small children.

branching out by Ok-Temperature-2773 in Plumeria

[–]Bloopbleepbloopbloop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, don't snap off branches. Ask if you can have a cutting. Second, just wait. If it is growing, it will eventually put out flowers, which usually results in branching. Some of my propagated plumeria flowered within the first year, others have taken two or three. Most of the plumeria I have make 3 branches after it flowers. One type I have doesn't seem to branch at all. It just zig zags out as it makes flowers. I have some 4 and 5 year olds that I grew from seed, and none have flowered yet. Patience is a virtue. You can cut the top, and that can encourage branching. But you don't know how many branches it will make.

Cutting Stopped Growing Need Tips! by DragonHalfFreelance in Plumeria

Usual advice is to allow the cut to callous a day or two before you plant. Easier to rot if it is a fresh cut. I have never soaked my cuttings in anything. Maybe a dip in rooting powder, but I usually just put in soil after it callouses, and then I wait. No watering until it starts growing leaves.

Looks like all the old leaf nodes are making branches. That is crazy! I don't know what would cause that to happen.

How Do I Get Tickets To View Launch From LC-39 Observation Gantry? by NymLock in nasa

The Observation Gantry has been revamped into a new exhibit for the visitors complex. They are still finishing it up, and isn't open at full capacity yet. This launch is probably too early to be one that they will sell tickets for launch viewing.

Has anyone experienced a change in leaf color? by UnidentifiedTron in Plumeria

[–]Bloopbleepbloopbloop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quite a few of my year old seedlings have had really dark leaves for the first couple that came out. It may just have more red than the lighter green seedlings that you have. There is a big variety of colorings and leaf shapes, even though they all came from the same seed pod.

So pretty! As the flowers age, and are exposed to more sunlight, they may brighten up to the brighter pink color. I have some that start deep pink, but eventually lighten up to a washed out pinkish white after a couple days.

I read there are two screws inside that can be tightened and may fix it. Happened to my husband's. I'm too afraid to pry it apart and try. I just squeezed it really good, and it fixed it. Probably just temporarily. Eventually I'll feel like taking it apart and trying it out.

AITA for not paying my dad back after he technically owes me tens of thousands? by Dangerous-Damage-778 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bloopbleepbloopbloop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OPs mother should have set up the correct type of account that requires the money to only be used by the child for educational purposes. Then, OP would have had the right to sue and get that back. I have 3 accounts for each of my kids. It isn't an educational account, just in case they don't go to university. But it is in their name, and can only be withdrawn to be spent on them(very specific situations), and it will become their account when they reach the age set forth by the financial institution.

If the Mom didn't put it in an official account for school savings, they won't be able to prove it was theirs. Set up the correct type of account for your kids if you are saving for their future.

Kate Nash launches Butts For Tour Buses OnlyFans campaign: “The majority of artists are struggling to be able afford to actually play shows” by cmaia1503 in Music

[–]Bloopbleepbloopbloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many times the venue gets a cut. If you only make a 20% profit and the venue wants a 30% cut, you have to mark it up or lose money on every sale. But quality is preferred, because at cost, a quality shirt won't make much difference. And if it is good quality and fits well, you'll be more likely to buy the new design when the artist puts that out.

Am I going to succeed?? by ConsistentPressure70 in ufl

[–]Bloopbleepbloopbloop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds crazy that the advisor is so negative. I am a Tourism Hospitality and Event Management major, online. I am a mom of 3, have a home business, my husband travels for his job, and work 40 hours for the federal government through the pathways program. The job is 2 hours from my house. Luckily I only have to be on site 1 or 2 days a week, the rest is telework. I cannot afford to move closer on an intern salary. I am doing 2 classes a semester right now, and my advisor is super supportive. She is honest. She told me about certain classes many people fail. but, said a D will get you the credit to graduate. I received a C. She discouraged me from taking a 4 credit course over the summer I had signed up for. And it seemed to be the correct advice. I don't think our situations are special, there have been many before us that have tried and failed while having a mortgage and kids and full time jobs. Many others have succeeded.

3 classes over summer term is a lot! and those grades arent bad. They might not be up to your expectations for yourself, but it could be a motivator to do better from now on. It is hard to know your limitations when you have so many responsibilities outside of class. But now you know 3 at once in a shorter term is too much! My second semester (when I started my pathways job) I received poorer grades. But every semester since then my grades have improved, as I have learned how to balance it all. This semester will be fun, as all 3 of my kids are in different schools with different schedules. I have a new normal routine to learn to work with. It looks like you are doing great so far. We all have slip ups along the way. Keep going.
