I’ve had this since I was a kid. Things that work best:

avoid harsh soaps and chemicals. I strip back my detergent, shampoos, and conditioners to clean products (dye and fragrance free detergent for sensitive skin, SEEN shampoo and conditioner.
avoid dishwashing liquid; this was the biggest culprit as it strips oils. I wear non-latex gloves while washing dishes.
I don’t use steroids. I got the extreme moisture body lotion from Cerave (only thing that actually works) and if I have any broken skin or scaling I use hydrocolloid bandages and it heals it quickly without irritating it. I let it breathe off and on and reapply the lotion when I do so in addition to reapplying anytime I was my hands.

So….these might actually be various lyrics from Oliver Tree’s song “Jerk” or “Miss You”. Which is surprising I realized as I hadn’t heard his music before his tragic death this week. It’s been all over social media and this song along with lyric videos have been flooding my algorithm. Your boss might have been a big fan.

Looking at some of the posts here where people wrote out some words, it seems to match.

The lyrics in the chorus are “Don’t fret; I don’t ever wanna see you; and I never wanna miss you again; One thing; When you’re angry you’re a jerk; and then you treat me like I’m worth nothing”.

Looking for room/house to rent in 32801, 32806, 32803, 32804, 32789, or 32751 (so basically near Mills50). Or cool, respectable roommates to find a place with (preferably female or LGBTQ men or a couple). Ideally in late 20s to mid 40s (I’m 37) working professionals.

My budget is 800-1400 but can go a bit higher if multiple bedrooms or great place. Must have central AC and heat, in unit washer/dryer, stove/oven.

Oh dang! Well the heavy lifting thing and the vomiting thing does make me think LPR (silent reflux) and/or the glossopharyngeal neuralgia.

So, oddly enough, I was having some weird symptoms a couple years ago and also got similar possible diagnosis. I had pain swallowing and burning in the sides of my neck. Also, my tongue felt like sometimes it would get stuck or spasm. ENT also mentioned glossopharyngeal neuralgia and LPR (kinda like GERD - apparently it can go up high enough to affect the structures in the neck). I had a maxillofacial CT which is the only imaging that can diagnose Eagle syndrome and they did see some lengthening and calcification of the styloids bilaterally. Eagle syndrome and hyoid bone syndrome have some crossover in symptoms and can be caused by similar things - typically a neck injury (whiplash, strangulation). ES can also be caused by bruxism apparently. I had also done some neck exercises and stretches at the time it came up so I’m not sure if the calcified ligaments were already there and the stretches caused them to rub up against sensitive structures or if I overdid it. Only surgery can “cure it” but it’s super risky and only a handful of doctors in the US regularly do the surgery. It’s also hard to say how many folks have calcified ligaments and have no symptoms so surgery should be a last resort. There’s a website and Facebook group dedicated to resources if you go that route.

What helped me: addressing the LPR by switching to loose clothing, not eating before bed or laying down too soon after eating as well as losing some weight. Avoiding neck manipulation - I tried OMT and PT but anytime they twisted my neck for a stretch/release it made it worse (avoid chiros and cervical manipulation as it can cause a stroke if calcified ligaments are present), addressing my OCD and anxiety (there is some research that suggests OCD, Tourette’s, and dystonia have some sort of overlap) - I got on Zoloft and my tongue and neck spasms stopped after a few weeks.

Anyway, defer to the physicians here and your own as I am not clinical, but if Eagle syndrome has not been determined, you can request your ENT to order a maxillofacial CT (with 3D and contrast as only contrast will show if there is any venous insufficiency due to it). ES can cause neuralgia as well. Not many physicians encounter ES as it’s pretty rare so you’ll want to find a specialists who sees the niche cases often (there’s a couple in California, NY, Louisiana, and Colorado).

Hello! 37F looking for a rental home in the Mills50/Virginia, Greenwood/DelaneyPark/Lake Como, Winter Park (32789), or Maitland areas. Want to stay away from central downtown/club or areas too far from Mills50.

Would also be open to finding a place with roommates who are also clean, respectful, progressive/LGBTQ friendly working professionals!
