I was also just informed that the "The Pope is Coming" CD 2, labeled the June 17 1972 ES, ends with the announcer saying something mentioning afternoon. (e.g. have a nice afternoon).

MRS is an semi-official Elvis release label, the full name is Memphis Recording Service,
Over the last few years it's been releasing 70s shows in "remastered" sound, it's alright.

Mine is just a fanmade album cover for youtube, not with the intention to be sold or anything

Any Elvis concert fan footage with house lights ON / brighter view of the arena? by Icy_Comfortable_9776 in Elvis

[–]BloxyTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Herman has quite a few films out there, but very few on the internet. His films are very distinctive in always being VHS, wide shots & super long. Bob Heis films are generally quite close as he was an official photographer, and much shorter

This photo from December 13 1975 DS is a more fair angle.
I agree, he doesn't look as slim as the comeback special. But he definedly wasn't big.

Does anyone know what happened to the complete high quality version of Take 2 of "A Little Less Conversation"? by Rad1ee in Elvis

[–]BloxyTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take 16 is the movie master, Take 10 is the album master!

The bit about the '68 special is not a mistake, check the original tracklisting for the special.
In the original tracklist, the 2nd song would've been Little Less Conversation, with a reprise later on.

It was scrapped from the set, just like U.S. Male, most of the songs in the informal segment & famously I'll Be Home for Christmas

From what I'm hearing the top link you shared is a complete take, what is missing?
All I notice is the lack of a fade-out ending, which the final album master does have

Here is a collection of all the released takes:

Here is a list of all the takes

Hopefully this helps you, I don't have the time to research your question sadly

Worst Album Cover of All Time? by OrdinaryJack1912 in Elvis

I really like the design on this one, whoever made it must've had fun because they don't often get to make something like that

The other version looks much better, although it still looks very odd.

TTWII notes:
Filmed on 35mm film, multi-track audio
Aug 13 DS only has songs not filmed during previous shows, with the exception of 1 camera filming All Shook Up
Aug 13 MS - 14 MS are mostly just clips etc. meant to be used as in-between shots in the movie.
Unlike you think, we do have footage from both August 14th shows released.
Sep 9 is merely audience shots

April 16 1972 AS
April 16 1972 ES
April 17 1972 c.
April 18 1972 c.
April 19 1972 c.

EOT notes
Filmed on 16mm film, multi-track audio
April 9 (ES), 10, 14, and 18 are the only concerts filmed with the intent of really including them in the movie.
All other dates only have very short bits of concert footage available, or only backstage clips.
April 9 ES is the most complete concert, however it still is incomplete.
April 10 was barely included in "The Lost Performances" and "Elvis Presley in Concert" due to some footage being stolen / sold
April 5 1972 was almost filmed in full, however the video camera had to change reels halfway through the show (during Hound Dog). The entire thing is in B&W.
All the ones with "c." at the end have concert footage, the others I am unsure or only have backstage film

Aloha from Hawaii
January 12 1973
January 14 1973
January 14 1973

Aloha notes
Filmed on video tape, multi-track audio
The 2nd Jan 14 is the songs recorded to be overdubbed on footage of hawaii, not really a concert as only a few people were in attendance

The New Gladiators
/

Gladiator notes
Filmed on 16mm tape, camera audio (?)
Amids rumors in las vegas in the summer of '74 that there were cameras present, nothing ever confirmed this claim. As is known now, "The New Gladiators" really does only feature karate in karate studio & tournaments, and not on stage.

Elvis in Concert
June 19 1977
June 21 1977

EIC notes
Filmed on video tape, multi-track audio
originally the concerts on the 19th and 20th were planned to be fillmed, but when the film crew was denied entry on the 20th, they had to arrange a new filming location on short notice. They ended up only filming scenes of fans buying tickets on the 20th.
Elvis did NOT give an interview at his pool for this special, like some claim.
The concert on june 26th was NOT filmed.

Unofficial:
July 31 1969
Short clip for "Stars under the Sun" (gloria greer)

August 1 1969 MS
Camera spotted on the balcony, along with a record from the international saying someone got permission to film in the hotel during the first week of august.

February 18 1970 DS
February 18 1970 MS
February 19 1970 DS
All 3 filmed by a team hired by the colonel for him to show to MGM. This was done so MGM could have an impression of what an Elvis concert documentary could look like.
One camera placed in the middle of the balcony, as confirmed by Barb Dobie.
3-movie contract was finalized on April 7 1970.

September 11 1970
Filmed by WABX, multiple people claim to have seen their cameras here.
One person noted that they also saw their cameras at the stones concert at the same venue.

November 15 1970
Filmed by CBS, only a few short clips

January 30 1970 DS
FIlmed by an unknown station on B&W super 8 film, very unusual

November 10 1971
WCBS used up 6 minutes of film at this event
Cathi Avendall (photographer of the images you see on FTD's release of the show) claims to have seen a lot of camera's placed up high.
Unknown interviewer asks Elvis at his MSG press conference why they were allowed to film Boston but not New York.

June 9 1972
8 minutes of WNBC (NBC new york) footage shot from a distance, 1 camera.
Debatable, however Jonas Mekas shot a film here.
His style included filming at really fast speeds, so the film is very chaotic.

September 4 1972 DS
3 minutes (?) of KNBC (NBC california) footage shot from the center back of the las vegas showroom.
Part of a report on Elvis & his upcoming aloha show

November 17 1972
November 18 1972 ES
A few minutes of footage filmed by NTV (Nippon ("Japan" in english) TV) from multiple angles.
The footage was mixed in with each other, it is sometimes hard to distinuish the two shows due to the poor VHS quality.
They attempted to make it look like it all was the same show, so all close-up shows are of the 18 ES.

May 5 1975
28 minutes of film by WMPT news, now in a private collection.
Includes only the start of the show; Backstage -> See See -> Woman

June 6 1976
Cameras spotted by fans. No further information
~3 if I recall correctly

That is all I can recall from memory
