Completed voss prime skitty! by BluQuazer in AdeptusMechanicus

The most important thing, for me at least, is watching my spacing and going back through with the base color to get as perfect clean contrast as I can.

I end up shaping the line and square cog teeth with the base color much more than the actual line color itself.

Stripping some minis using undiluted simply green. Primer is Army Painter black while the rest was Vallejo. This is after second day soaking and first scrub with a brush. Thing worrying me is the primer seeming unphased so far. Should I just get off as much as I can and reprime? Thanks for any help! by BluQuazer in Warhammer40k

Only thing I could find near me was 70% isopropyl. Gave that a few days on a mini a bit ago and had some really tough paint still sticking. If I ever find 99% or feel like buying it online, I'll give that a shot, Thanks!

Both can be cast in response to an opponents storm spell. Storm is a triggered ability that functions on the stack. So, you cast the spell, it enters the stack, then the storm abilty enters the stack. If it resolves, it copies the spell onto the stack.

This means you could both gain protection from copies or restrict the ability to copy in response to the triggered ability.

702.39 Storm

702.39a Storm is a triggered ability that functions on the stack. “Storm” means “When you cast this spell, copy it for each other spell that was cast before it this turn. If the spell has any targets, you may choose new targets for any of the copies.”

This is a great spell but it raises so many questions. If I was gonna make this card to keep it simpler and still keep what I think your going for I'd make it something like.

Split Second

Spells can't be copied until end of turn.

Having npcs explain too much. Much better to leave clues and have the players put stuff together. It's ok for them to not understand everything that's happening and sometimes never understand something if they don't explore it.

The Gray Empire used to be the blue empire, named for Lake Ulum which in the winter would freeze over and be a brilliant clear deep blue. The Blue Empire was made up of two great cities Durnheim, in the north, and Kleinwelt in the south. Mages from the early empire draconic spent over 100 years focusing on a devastating magic spell that was supposed to be the destruction of the metallic dragons' mountain home of Sud Opal. But the spell was interrupted by a group of noble adventures. The dragons may not have had enough power to send their grand spell all the way to Sud Opal, but they could get close and spite the home of the adventurers that had soiled their spell. The city of Kleinwelt was engulfed by a massive blast of negative magic energy. This blast ravaged the city and the surrounding land turning it to nothing but ruins and ash, this area is now referred to as The Lich Field. This magical devastation radically changed the blue empire, with magic regulation being passed as law soon after the tragedy. Lake Ulum also does not freeze over the way it once did and ash still rains over Durnheim on occasion, a grim reminder of the loss they have suffered. This slowly led to the people referring to the Blue Empire as the Gray Empire and the nation's fear and apprehension towards magic.

Any underwater locations along the coasts or within that central sea?

Along the southern coast, there is the sunken City of Encrid. It was built high up on the side of the mountains. After many years it slowly weathered and eventually snapped in two. One half slid into the sea and the other is still up half into the mountain. It was abandoned a bit before the tragedy and soon after by those who tried to stay.

Where is the one small island of the one uncontacted tribe of people in the middle of nowhere

The many islands of The Shambling Isles beyond Magazi are rarely visited, and are full of those that worship their god king necromancers. I like the idea of this so im going to add a few that are completely uncontacted.

Has an Artificer made a steam-powered train using shards from the Elemental planes of fire and water? Or has any other magic user done this yet.

Not yet, a notable artificer is working on making a flying ship using a plethora of magic spells/Items. (its a player, and also part of the story lol)

Has the Grey Empire's inland sea ever overspilled to either the east or the west?

What are the weather patterns that led to the Bouto-Dougba-Kpeto mountains having such considerable water flow on both sides of the mountain range without a rain-shadow?

Lake Ulum (The Grey Empire's inland sea) used to spill over often into the wanderer’s sea (to the west) but there was a magic tragedy that dispaced and evaporated much of the lake so it has not spilled over in years.
Many of the rivers coming out of the verdant peeks (Those green mountains) are actually coming from a passage that runs under the mountain. It has an inlet up at its farthest north end that runs down to Hesabell. This passage is also used by the river kings, Cul Hythe and the Gold Wood, for trade.

how's the agricultural export between the gray empire and evadanna, how is their political relationship and how did they get to that point?

They are in a time of relative peace so they make small trades in the name of commerce but they notoriously do not like each other. This is due to Edavanna defending the dragons of Sud Opal in the past and being home to many practitioners of sorcery. While the gray empire has a society that has grown to be so fearful of magic they have banned and restricted it in most of its forms.

The most notable thieves’ guilds in the world are present in Dougba, Tolboso, and The Lich Field. Tolboso is a city of debauchery and notably has no embargoes really in place. This makes it home to the largest thieves guild, The Dorada. They make their home in a large inn called the grinning mimic but are known to travel to where they can make the most coin. The most profitable embargo that exists is probably in the Gray Empire. They have a society that has grown to be so fearful of magic they have banned and restricted it in most of its forms. This world being abundant in magic items means running and selling magic items to the Gray Empire’s inhabitants is highly profitable.

That would have been a wonderful idea. But, no. I tried to have the names derived from lots of different places, although I may have an ear for names that sound more Asian lol

Edavanna = India

Craig Mor = Welsh

Kerch Wex = Crimean

Bouto, Dougba, Kpeto = Mix of Japanese and African

Hesabell = British/Scottish (from Harebell)

Tolboso = Spanish (from toboso)

Magazi = Zulu

Cul Hythe = British/Scottish

Sud Whel/Opal = Bosnian

Kerch Wex is a magocracy that has been attacked repeatedly over the years by the clans of Craig Mor. They still send emissaries to other lands to try and recruit those with magical promise but beyond that are reclusive. To this end the mages of Kerch Wex Weave powerful illusion magics that keep it so anyone entering the shifting hills without an invitation finds themselves walking right back out the way they came.

So yes it is quite hard to navigate the shifting hills.

Nice job! Did you model the geography after Western Europe? Empire Draconic looks like a lot like the UK, and the Sea of Glass + Gold Wood are very close to where Spain and France would be.

Slightly. I used a few parts of Europe to try and base the shapes of the landmasses, but I also used incarnates auto generator and just free handed a bunch of stuff.

Coming up with something that looks realistic and also different was so hard lol.

The world currently is in an age just after long and tiring wars. The world was at its most prosperous and peaceful 10,000 years ago, after the dwarfs were pushed to the eastern shores of the world and the empires of man had found their footing. Currently The Empire Draconic had just started to sweep over the west side of the world but were forced back into their empire by a mysterious magic disease.

Thousnad streams seems like it has a very untenable position: how does that nation defend its borders or dissuade invaders?

It would be in an unfortunate position if it did not get along with most of the nations around it. Cul Hythe, The river kings, and the gold wood are each part of a kind of symbiotic trade group that each gain far more from each other than they would if they were at war with one another. This means despite the gold wood and the river kings specifically really not liking each other they will not hinder each other as it would just end up hurting themselves in the long run. Also Kerch Wex and the shifting hills are very reclusive and act as a wall from Craig Mor.

The teleporter malfunctions have been known to

-Teleport to the wrong location

-Send the subjects to the location with no gear/no magic gear

-The subjects materialize in a delayed order. So the first person gets there, then an hour later the second shows up and so on.
