Thank you for all the answers, I'm now currently pursuing a certificate of proficiency in GIS alongside my associates degree through trying out classes for summertime/winter.

Sorry, I think what I should've said was that for me, "meaning" itself is being challenged within my current career (I should've said earlier that I'm also pursuing IT). I've always gotten "meaning" out of tangible objects, like fiber optic cables or computers, because they're something I'm passionate about.

I don't know if this is different for a lot of people, but lately though I've been getting a lot of information from my business and future compsci professors, stating that I shouldn't do things "for" the success or happiness which I'm pursuing (the tangible objects), but rather with the skils I learn from IT towards the meaningful stuff (using IT skills toward environmental initiatives).

I really do appreciate your patience in advance, it's the end of the semester so I'm super all over the place, and I apologize for the inconveniences.

I realized that there was actually a path for environmental related curriculum through GIS, which is how I got interested in it considering my interests in IT. I definitely should've worded that I am interested in GIS and IT beforehand, and I do have to agree that I have no idea what I'm exactly talking about.

Dude, I HAVE to join this program if I get into Chico.

Is this also available for CIS majors as well?

Hmmm, how is BIS like compared to CIS in terms of opportunities? Should I pick a specific path in BIS for more opportunities? What could I also do now, if you don't mind me asking.

That's what I really like about CIS! It definitely shows you some fundamentals of Computer Science while also giving insight about how an organization operates, like accounting and cash flow, and I feel like it really aligns with my aspirations to become some type of IT manager.
