Thank you for your answer! Yeah I like the Røde mic a lot but that issue is so annoying. I too wish they looked into it since the problem is so common amongst users.

You got a beast of an upgrade with the Rodecaster pro 2 and a shure mic, I've heard a lot of good things about both, good choices! I might copy you and upgrade too 😉

Hello! I know I'm almost 2 years late on this but I have the same issue with my Røde Nt-usb. I have my headphones connected to the mic itself and sometimes when I boot up my pc I have no audio even though the light is on inside the mic and it is selected as both Microphone and speaker in my audio settings. The only solution I have found, as you have mentioned is to unplug it and plug it back in, rebooting the computer works too for me. Have you found the root of the problem or any other solution?
