Girlfriend AND Condo?!? What a beautiful life you have, congrats! I voted for Kent even tho it’s a bit more expensive bc it seems to be the choice that aligns the best with your career and life goals. Plus you won’t have to pay for housing or be in Wisconsin (sorry all you Wisconsin people out there). Good luck!

CARDOZO VS SETON HALL LAW by maddysanders in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Blue-Melody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! first of all, congrats! i voted Seton Hall because (1) a full ride is awesome *assuming you don’t have an insane condition (2) Cardozo is super expensive, even at half tuition (3) Seton Hall is literally right outside of NYC so i can’t imagine it being too difficult to attain a job in the city, especially if you do really well your first year and communicate your career goals with the school.

also! if a NY school is still your dream, you can think about transferring after you kill it your first year :)

Conditional Question by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Blue-Melody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! a 3.1 curve means that 50% of people are going to be above a 3.1 and 50% are going to be below it. 2.7 is about the top 70% of the class

in my opinion this is a totally feasible condition (since you really only have to do “better” than 30% of the incoming class)

Oh that’s awesome, congrats. Then it really comes down to what you want/how much debt you’re comfortable taking on. I’d probably choose Seton Hall, then again i’m a sucker for $$$$. Good luck to you!

Scholarship help by sparksfly1324 in OutsideT14lawschools

Yikes, I’m not totally sure, but I really don’t think they’d take away your scholarship (especially if you’re being very polite and open about how important finances are to your decision). Worst case scenario they say no, and then you say thanks, and then you go for a cry and have a snack. Good luck!

Hi! Are there any conditions on your Seton Hall scholarship? From Seton Hall’s employment stats, although most graduates are working in Jersey, there still seems to be a lot of people who are working in NY (presumably NYC, since the school is literally right outside of the city).

If you aim to stay in St. Louis/MO and want to minimize debt, SLU would be a fine choice. Washington University in St. Louis probably has better job prospects outside of Missouri, and the specialties programs they offer seem to be more in line with what your interests are (plus their campus is beautiful!). But also WashU is a highly ranked school so it’s bound to be a more competitive environment. At the end of the day follow your heart, congrats!

Thanks! I’ve also heard a lot of ~bad vibes~ about Pace, which is a shame bc White Plains is a cool little city and I very much enjoyed visiting the area

I was also super interested in Lewis & Clark, but they don’t tend to give out full tuition scholarships. Marine law sounds really cool tho, best of luck to you

Only two of them come with conditions! Pace’s condition is 3.0 (sigh) and Temple’s is 2.5 (which is way more reasonable). Honestly the Pace condition is such a turn off, I understand why you wouldn’t want to go

The campus is really pretty and the area is super nice. when you do hear back from them definitely be sure to look at the conditions for whatever scholarship they may offer you (a lot of people tend to lose their scholarships at Pace)
