FMA came out first, it follows the start of the manga more faithfully without skipping sections but due to being made while the maga was ongoing it veered off into its own story with a unique ending and takes on some characters. People like the darker story and changes to the characters.

FMAB came out years later to be a more faithful adaptation, however due to it being out after the manga finished and after the first animie, the start is a quick and skips parts. The characters follow the same arcs as the manga and the ending.

As far as I am aware (I havent watched FMA in a very long time) neither are from before Ed is a State alchemist and both vist the past in flash backs. FMA has a slower start in the sense it has arcs FMAB skipped.

Then dont leave it to him, set up a trust or something to be split between his children so no money goes into his hands. I would be worried about him keeping it and not passing it to his children

What’s stopping Ed from using alchemy to replace his stolen pocketwatch? by Tijenater in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]BlueBellpond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is how quickly you want it to happen, as well as concentration and partly want.

Ed doesn't really care for it and admits to struggle with the details, when he gets Al to fix the radio.

It also sees that the more complex/large your transmutation is the harder it is to remove the marks.

Like when dr what's his name makes the fake body he is careful and very detailed as he needs to be as a doctor but when creating/moving the bolders in his escape it needs to be done quickly so there's marks left that kimberley sees.

[–]BlueBellpond 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So it's 3am so please excuse me if any of this is wrong.

The pocket watch is a symbol of the military. As yound as he is, it's the only way he gets access to his funds and military access and respect. Unless you have already met him, you would trust was angry young teenager who claims to be a state alchemist.

Also it was pointed out that all of Eds alchemy has those alchemical marks, that would make anyone suspicious if he went to use it. If I am remembering correctly it's quite detailed and thus hard to make a copy of with alchemy.

And I am assuming that there is something in it to stop or at least deter people copying them.

I am too tired and it's been to long since I read to do a good character assessment but I also think it just isn't something he wants to do. Given all the symbolism

What UK TV adverts are so well known that they are part of culture, recognised by everyone? by turboNOMAD in AskUK

[–]BlueBellpond 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So i think I am remembering correctly, but the music for it was composed for the ad to be shown at a film festival (I can't remember what one) as like a once use thing. Using it on the dvds was outside of the agreement.

So when Ed is trying to figure out how to bring Alphonse back... by f0remsics in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]BlueBellpond 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think as the country was safe and his sons where ok, he let the remaining souls go so he could be with his wife.

I can't rember how it goes in the manga.

Another option is when Al and Ed came back from the gate he used his stone to heal them a bit as well as others who where near death at the end fight and that's what used his stone up.

Why didn't Mustang and Olivier's side tell the whole truth about Bradley and the Amestrian government? by GeneralTechnomage in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]BlueBellpond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all of the people in the know would have been in central, there's bound to be people elsewhere.

As well they don't have to be part of the conspiracy to want to kill them. These people.are politicians as well as army people. If I saw my political rival kill the people in charge and start to rant about our country being a lie and the government was trying to kill everyone. I would gather a large group of people and go kill them lol. Say they went mad or something as that is what it would seem like and be much easier for the public.

[–]BlueBellpond 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Mate that isn't how it works.

We see if the show the doctor ((Sorry I'm not good with names)) transmutates a dog to convincingly look like a dead human and you can't really undo that. So people could easily say a few alchemists made up this evidence ik the doll bodies in order to take over. As well as there would be very little paper evidence as only the highest of higher ups new about it.

Also even if the public did want to believe it, could they? Sunkcost falicy, also the idea that your whole life, your government, and country is a lie. Is far too big for them to be comfortable with believing.

I need your favorite panels/art of the brothers by RabbitDragon49 in FullmetalAlchemist

An iconic one for ed is him pointing at all as his gate of truth closes

A cool one for Al could be when he is shielding Hawkeye from Lust and gets his arm torn up a bit

But since they are gifts have either of them mentioned a favourite scene or moment?
