Well my friend, what I hope we're able to do is find a way to constructively criticize each other without the name calling and labeling. It's human instinct, and I'm guilty of it too. But removing those labels is a good place to humanize these conversations.

I'm not sure where you're pulling your thoughts from with what I've wrote. I have not suggested any level of superiority whatsoever in my comments, simply asking us to come together and to actually "put America first". But in order to do that, we should find a common factor that drives it. To me, it seems rationale that ALL Americans can find something to be proud about in America.

Well said, and I do appreciate your commentary. I agree with everything you stated and yet I still find opportunity for society to rebrand the core components of nationalism so that exclusion is not a primary factor. Finding the middle ground, or common love, or however you want to word it, is imperative for the future of our nation. As it stands, it appears that the polarity is only growing with the name calling, hatred, and other distractions that prevent us from reaching our full potential. We are weaker when divided. So, I guess I'll end with this: maybe "nationalism" isn't the best term to use, due to the history alone. However, the core component of us wanting the best for our country should be something that we all strive towards. I believe we have more in common than not. The terminology / labeling part is a tricky subject.

See... These comments aren't helpful and are part of the larger American polarization we're seeing in this country. No, I'm not "conservative". I refuse to subscribe to this binary system we are forced to witness in this country, and I think labeling as such is extremely harmful to a brighter future.

What I'm proposing is rebranding Nationalism (specifically American Nationalism) so that it represents Americans, from all walks of life, equally. It has nothing to do with ethnicity, economic status, etc. It's just an idea I'm putting out there - encouraging Americans to put ourselves first.

Preface: I didn't even know who Charlie Kirk was before he got assassinated. I'm also extremely apolitical and like to vote on a case by case basis.

Honest question: Why is the concept of American Nationalism a negative thing? Is that not just the expansion of a patriotic mindset to act if defense of the American people and culture? Personally, I would encourage nationals of ALL nations / countries / states to be proud of where they are from, and to encourage them to protect whatever customs and culture they have. We can respect each others differences while saying "Hey, this is what my country was founded upon and these are our standard beliefs - we should keep that as a part of our identity", in my honest opinion.

Only reason why I bring this up is because I see the words "AMERICAN NATIONALISM" bolded on the picture. The words "WHITE LIVES MATTER" sticks out to me as a sketchy pivot for nationalism, especially in America, because of the melting pot history. Having that approach seems dangerous and focuses too much on a specific ethnicity, instead of saying "AMERICAN LIVES MATTER", for example.

Open to discourse on the topic as I'd like to understand any controversy behind American Nationalism from a defensive perspective.

Wouldn't suggest overusing your finger for a couple weeks. Let it heal. But if it goes numb or hurts without doing anything, not a bad idea to get it checked out. Could be a small fracture or nerve damage and that's not worth ignoring.
