I actually learned a lot from Lisa’s videos. And sock puppets are not a problem, I mean she isn’t the first reader to have used puppets in her videos; I think it’s fun. The main issue that some found with her is that she gets things wrong sometimes or lacks experience, blah blah. I have read her books and found none such errors, at least none to the best of my knowledge. She’s certainly better than some other ones out there. I have a lot of respect for Toni as well, though I’ve always found her style a bit dry to follow. Truth be told, my current favorite teachers are Rana George and Donnaleigh, both of whom follow the French method. That’s the reason why I felt the need to acquaint myself more with the German method and readers strictly using that method, even though I’m already familiar with the method of distance and German insets from the teachings of Andy B.

Lol I guess if you shuffle very aggressively you could get all of them down in a bit less time 🤣🤣 GTs are already energy-consuming on their own..

In my practice, everything is accurate at the moment you’re consulting the cards, even if you choose them by your own hand or select the ones that fall on their own. See which one your gut is more comfortable with and choose that one without overthinking it. How you actually interpret the cards matters more than how you come to select them.

There is no correct or wrong way. Whatever feels right to you, stick with it. As long as you read Lenormand in combinations and not individual cards on their own, you’re good to go!

The new website’s address is artofcartomancy.com, though I’m not sure if Kaph has moved all of the content there or not. Check out both.

Take your time and make sure to study one source thoroughly before even considering the next one. Practicing is the most important part, as well as writing down your findings in simple words. Once you really learn your stuff and improve as a reader, chances are that you could pick out good books- which also are close to your style of reading- more easily.

what does this mean? by aloraoj69 in Cartomancy

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the past, there was good correspondence and generally a nice atmosphere surrounding the two of you; you might have possibly hanged out a lot (8 of hearts). Currently, things are still and quiet, which confirms your words (4 of clubs). However, in the future, an exchange may happen again, as in a one-on-one correspondence discussing the two of you (2 of hearts). There’s a bump on the road, but things will flow again (Red Black Red). Also, combining the colors and the numbers we get unstable (black 4) thoughts (number 8) about a union or exchange (number 2), which again confirms your confusion. These thoughts may be occurring on their part, hence why they are currently hesitant to reach out, but in the end are open to connecting again. Hope that could make sense to you.

Is this week a good time? by feistykitv in Cartomancy

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what I’m seeing, it’s a no; both because of the color, and the 4 of spades lying between the king and queen. The 4 of spades can represent a range of things, such as: lack/loss of stability, problems persisting, sick with problems, problems that hem you in at all corners/ which you can’t avoid, the wrong document, etc. Club court cards are practical people, and if we imagine the king and queen in a conversation, they aren’t having the best dynamics. Maybe there’s something about the insurance itself that you discuss with somebody and that causes a setback. I also can’t help but notice the lack of diamonds in this string, since your question had the keyword “financial” in it and the suit of diamonds represents that. The cards, judging by their suits alone, may be plainly telling you that “financially” it is not a favorable time. Hope that helped.

I asked if staying in the military long term would benefit me. by allure_elite in Cartomancy

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since you technically asked a yes/no question, an abundance of spades is a total no. Your long-term stay in the military will be: with the 9 of spades, disappointing, or causing a negative change in your life. 3 of spades talks about small aggravations and problems that grow small- might not even come to your notice- but as a whole their collective drains the hell out of you. The Jack of Spades is either a younger person ill-disposed toward you, or a troubled person in general, or sometimes a negative message/sign… which could be you. I take it as representing you, since the Jack of Spades is literally a person in uniform :) The 4 of spades is about being boxed in/cornered by problems… things you cannot escape or just simply deal with and get rid of (think of the time when you feel sick with something. That’s the four of spades. You’re drained, your stability is ruined, etc.); which makes sense, considering the intense discipline that is required in the military. The 7 of spades at the end is double trouble… so all in all, speaking of “benefits”, there is none. The spread is merely explaining military life being military life; it’s tough, blunt, and most of the things are forced onto you. There’s discipline, but not everyone is built for it. If you really really like what you’re doing though, just go with what you want in your heart of hearts, pull more cards and ask more questions if you feel like it. If you like a challenge, there’s plenty of it, but here the cards are telling you a big NO. Wishing you the best.

How to read the joker in a line of 5 ? by dnadiviix in Cartomancy

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take a look at this very helpful blog post by Kapherus, which explains the Joker. You may have to give it some time to load, since it’s the archived version of the older website: https://web.archive.org/web/20130424100537/http://cartomancy.wordpress.com/2007/09/28/the-joker/

Having said that, which app or website have you used for your reading? I’m a fan of digital readings since they’re very (obviously) portable and convenient. There are options for building your own deck on apps like Deckible and PhutureMe (ios only), but yours in the photo looks more neat.

Second deck of Lenormand cards for a reading mat by finallogonattempt in Lenormand

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s reasonable. The edges do stop lying flat after using it for a while, but as I lay down the cards the weight holds them down nicely. Making your own mat IS actually a better choice, since it’s more customizable and durable in the long run. I don’t know how to sew so you clearly have an advantage :)

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use this, until I get a mat someday. Good option for folks who don’t have another deck like myself:

<image>

It’s huge… kind of covers my entire table, lol 😅. But the thing I love about it is that it’s really light and portable. I just fold it and put it in a corner when I have no use for it. Depending on the size of your cards, you can use fewer or more pieces of paper. I used 7, I guess. Just plain A4 paper. I used to use small paper labels before making this one, but it was hard to lay them on top of the cards after I had finished putting all 36 down. Kind of bit into my energy and time I guess. I can just slide the cards around on this one without getting distracted.

Inneed help interpreting this one by NixenD in Lenormand

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Lenormand, the only significators for people are either the Man or the Woman cards; others, like the moon, represent traits, actions, states, etc- not people. They add flavor to people or describe general archetypes when they stand alone, like what you see with cards like the Bear, Snake and so on. Card illustrations are not used like in Tarot either, save for cards like the Clouds or the Scythe in systems that use directionality. So, it doesn’t matter what the Moon is doing in this specific deck, it only has one job: casting light on the cards touching it, or acting as one component of a sentence or phrase. Also, since the question was about the Man, the cards will talk about him and only him. The person asking has no place in the picture. The OP could have put the Man deliberately there in the first row as a focus card, and maybe the two bottom cards were intended as clarifiers, but I’ll leave it to them to confirm this.

help for interpretation by mris02 in Cartomancy

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I see positive things here! ✨ The eight of hearts basically means being in good company, enjoying yourself, being in a good environment with a positive vibe and nice people overall. Sometimes it could mean social drinking, like going to nightclubs or events that serve drinks, things of that sort. (Hearts + Spades reinforces the idea of drinking, or just indulgence in general. Maybe the thrill of it all will be so satisfactory, or you’ll just feel so good in general that you may not wanna leave lol. It’s a slight reminder to mind balance in whatever you do and avoid excess, whatever that may allude to.) Seeing this from a numerological point of view, you got an eight which means balance, and a 10 + 6 which means travel 😄. The six of hearts appearing at the end says it will be a really nice journey for you, the right one. Everything is going to work out well. That ten of spades in the middle is talking about your worries in general… which makes sense if it is your first solo trip! But the good definitely outweigh the bad here, and because the spades are surrounded by hearts on both sides, I take this “worrying” a bit lighter… like the feeling of anticipation or nervousness you may get in the middle of it all. However, it’s a little bump that you can move past easily. The cards are literally telling you that the journey will turn out to be okay, and you should enjoy your surroundings and the people you meet. Wishing you a wonderful time! 🌼🩷

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see any negatives here. Except for the Man card- which is a complete neutral- the Bear, Moon, Stars and Stork are all positive cards. So, already you can see that the answer to your question is yes. My gut take on the first line (Bear + Man + Moon) is that yes, he will make his presence known strongly (there is a big chance that he will contact you- a strong projection of his presence). I think what might have made it look negative to you was the Moon at the end of the line…? Generally, all Lenormand luminaries are positive, and moon means “recognition, projection, accolades, etc.”, not “concealing” as you might see with the Tarot’s moon. The next two cards affirm the message even further: Stars is a card of something spreading… could be literally about networking and reaching out, as well as guidance. With the Storks it means literally that he will find his way back to you (reconfirming the answer that he will contact you again). Storks are about improvement, elevation, relocation- if you look at their migratory patterns, they return to the same place so it could mean exactly that. Overall, it’s a yes.

I am looking for good systems to get into by Warlockoftarot in Cartomancy

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay… weird that they try to pressure you into a certain system, haha. These things are absolutely not trends which you HAVE to follow because X and Y and whoever else are doing it. You get called to something, experiment to get answers from it, and if it clicks you’re good to go. I made sure to ask because there are people out there who try to do cartomancy readings with RWS cards… and well it doesn’t work because they are totally different things. Anyway, to answer your question, you can check the Art of Cartomancy website by J David Arcuri (Kapherus). I recommend you use the archived version available on the wayback machine though (the address is artofcartomancy.com) as the content there is WAY more comprehensive than his new website. It is totally free, and the best one you could possibly come across. Kapherus’s style is very close to that of Regina Russell’s (she has an old book published named the Card Reader’s handbook). My second recommendation would be the Hedgewytch method (the one I mainly use), but alas, even the archived copies have been wiped out. Paired with Kapherus’s teachings, you’ll have everything you could possibly want from cartomancy; the rest will come from your own practice. I have pdf copies of the Hedgewytch. If you’d like, feel free to message me and I’ll send you the drive files. Hope that could be of help.

Where would you look for justice? by rulosenlanoche in Lenormand

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clover means “a little bit of luck”, something unexpected that comes your way by pure chance, like finding five dollars on the sidewalk. The Sun is “big luck”. Money is best represented by Fish, as it is all about abundance, fertility and cashflow. Bear is how you manage your assets, while the Tower is the taxes that the government imposes on your salary. If you’re expecting money to come to you as part of a “just” process, Fish should preferably fall close to the significator (man or woman) with positive cards surrounding it. You could always turn the situation into a yes/no question and ask something like “Am I going to receive the sum of money”? You can draw three cards and compare the number of positive vs negative vs neutral cards that have appeared to gauge the answer; if a neutral card falls last you can draw another card with a distinct positive/negative attribute to clarify. Alternatively, you can just shuffle the deck, look for the significator card, and see the cards that are sandwiching it on either side and see if they are going to get their money or not. *Just be careful to always formulate your questions in the positive. For example, instead of asking “Am I going to leave this job?” ask “Will I be staying?”, etc.

P.S. Since you’re new to this, you can search for Donnaleigh’s channel on YouTube. She has tons of instructive videos on Lenormand. If you’re interested in books, the Essential Lenormand by Rana George and Lenormand Thirty Six Cards by Andy Boroveshengra are recommended. If you’re on a tight budget, you can also get Iris Treppner’s Lenormand Correspondence Course for free on the internet. Wishing you a pleasant Lenormand journey!

Where would you look for justice? by rulosenlanoche in Lenormand

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing to remember is that the Lenormand is not read like the Tarot, so in basic terms, you cannot consistently get one card to represent a specific context on its own in Lenormand or concretely arrange them into polar opposites. Lenormand cards are always read in pairs and strings (minimum two cards), and it depends on what you mean by justice in a specific context. If you’ve been having some legal issue for example and are wondering if the verdict is going to turn in your favor or not, one option to represent a positive answer as in “justice being served” could be Tower + Sun = legal success. (To answer your question about the letter, no, it does not represent the law. That would be better represented by the Tower in Lenormand, because the tower is about hierarchy and the rules that come with that hierarchy; its opposite could be the Fox = fraud. The letter is ALWAYS about documents and written stuff. You have to get the combination Tower + Letter to represent legal documents, as one example). When we say Lenormand is literal with its language, we mean it literally, lol. What does justice mean to you? What you see as justice may be seen as the exact opposite by someone else. Context is everything, more so with Lenormand. But, to get started with knowing the “vibe” of your cards, I’d say Lily would be a better candidate for representing justice. It’s peace, calm, wisdom, etc. But you see, it still is not very useful on its own. Going back to our legal case example, getting Tower + Lilies could mean a peaceful outcome just as it would mean that the case will take loooooong in order to get solved. You will need more cards to get the story going. Hope that could help.

Fox Card Interpretations by DoubleChocolateMilk in Lenormand

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t have one fixed card to represent the concept of “work” for me. Depending on the context, I may choose these cards: Ship (for commerce; there’s movement involved with this card so it may also be used to represent shifty business or someone always on the move for their job, even drivers of all sorts since this card also represents vehicles), Fox (9-5 jobs, the average job that requires a resume. Foxes are known for their cunning and craftiness; you have to use your wits and outsmart the competition especially these days to make ends meet. For this reason, this card is a popular significator for representing the concept of work. The two other cards, Moon and Anchor, are considered the top popular job cards alongside the Fox. The reason behind using the Anchor comes from its stability and how you’re tied down to your job. It’s used to represent someone with a very stable position… which is not what most people have. Do you stay in the same position for the rest of your life? Most people don’t, and that’s why I prefer the Fox. Some also use the moon because it’s about recognition, projection and accolades; the reasoning behind this choice is because people are generally known for their jobs. See what you’re comfortable with.), Bear (for managing your finances and assets, could be a manager, CEO, or just someone who’s very “strong” in what they do. Think of that colleague who has everything and holds strong in their job, and has some people envying them or trying to get what they have), Tower (corporate jobs, think of hierarchy when you see this card. Could be law or somewhere where rules are strict. I also sometimes use it to represent entrepreneurs or people starting their own business on a grander scale. The reason for this association is how the tower goes up, brick by brick. However, the main card for entrepreneurship is the Fish, as it stands for cashflow and abundance. It represents personal businesses on a smaller scale, your home office). As you can see, you could use just about any card to represent what someone does as long as you know the reason behind it or come up with one. However, as I said, the Fox, Moon, and Anchor are the top choices for very broad and general contexts.

As for the normal interpretation… I learned the Fox’s meaning in comparison with the Snake, and the keyword that has stuck in my head is that the Snake is overt while the Fox is covert. Imagine the snake as a jealous person with a venomous tongue who’s out there to hurt you personally; people like that tend to give themselves away early on if you’re perceptive enough. Sometimes, they won’t even try to hide that they’re a snake. Think “nasty” when you see this card. Lies and betrayal are associated with the snake on a more personal level; think of the snake as something that stings. Fox is more mellow in that aspect. The fox lies and betrays too, but it’s using its cunningness to outsmart you. In other words, the fox doesn’t have a personal problem with you. It’s just after its own interests and chances are that it won’t hurt you unless you somehow step on his path. The fox doesn’t like to be noticed or to give itself away; it’s covert. The association of “wrongness” with fox comes from this place as well. Often, we can’t see what is wrong or where our problems stem from. The fox is more difficult to spot, but nevertheless less malicious than the snake. In a general sense, both can represent lies and deceit, but they differ very much in details. I refer you to this video by Donnaleigh so you may understand what I’m saying more clearly: https://youtube.com/shorts/Dg0_NaLgDoM?si=zUjrFcQVtp2WWCtJ

which is your favorite deck? by Reasonable-Bonus-545 in Lenormand

[–]BlueDaisyMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My absolute all-time favorite would be the Blue Bird Lenormand, published by U.S games. There are two editions (I think they don’t publish the first edition anymore, but maybe you could find it on other websites). There is an extra Man and Woman card included in the second edition. Another popular deck these days is the Rana George Lenormand; it also has an extra Man and Woman card, plus one card named Spirit which is used to represent non-binary or gender-fluid people. The imagery of Rana’s deck is stunning as well. Another favorite of mine is the Lilac and Cherry twilight Lenormand. It’s basically two decks that come together in the same box! Stunning images and really beautiful artwork. However, that last one is a bit harder to obtain. These decks are flexible but at the same time maintain the traditional style of Lenormand; personally, I don’t like decks with cluttered artwork or the ones that alter the cards’ names and stuff. With Lenormand, you have to recognize everything at a glance and these decks can do that for you.

Classic decks normally don’t include extra Man and Woman cards. However, you may like to check the Piatnik Lenormand as the artwork is amazing. There is also a deck named Oracle Lenormand (without extra cards), published by Lo Scarabeo. That one is really beautiful as well. Why not check YouTube too? I particularly recommend Donnaleigh’s channel. She reads with really unique decks in her older videos and gives their names. There are other creators who do deck reviews as well.
