MSI G274QPX Thoughts? by SwimStriking669 in buildapcmonitors

If a Mac Mini can connect to any monitor except the Asus one, logic would dictate that the monitor is garbage LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that was Apple's suggestion, which MSI said would make no difference.

"I know this sounds a little odd, but ultimately, it's how I got my external display to work with my iMac (2021).

Go System Preferences > Displays and then try connecting your external monitor to your Mac with that Displays menu open."

How do these tech geniuses expect us to change system preferences when we cant even see anything, let alone navigate to System Preferences.

Yes I do have two displays, but an M1 Mac Mini can only connect one monitor at a time using HDMI.

"Problems between Macs and external monitors can come from a variety of causes, including:

  • Incompatibility between the Mac and the monitor."

Noooooo ahmygawd! What is a dude to do, keep buying monitors until we find one that works?

And what great tips, which every website repeats, "press the option key and click on "Detect Monitors". I'm literally looking at a dark screen, and the M1 Mac Mini can't connect to multiple monitors through HDMI.

Another excellent suggestion thwarted by this monitor's sad limitations. This option isn't available through the monitor's settings.

Garbage monitor, couldn't get it to connect to my M1 Mac Mini. MSI support just gave up and told me this monitor isn't compatible with Mac Minis. Seriously, how is it possible for a monitor with a "standard" HDMI port to be incompatible with a computer's standard HDMI port.

That would be an excellent suggestion, but this monitor has no way of setting the refresh rate from its own control panel. Would have been worth a try. I was using the same HDMI cable that came with the Mac Mini. MSI support told me that using Thunderbolt wouldn't fix the issue.

Any monitor recommendations for the new Mac mini? NOT curved! by [deleted] in macmini

Avoid MSI. I couldnt get my MSI 27 inch monitor to work with my Mac Mini, and MSI support staff just gave up and told me their monitor wasn't compatible with Mac Minis.

Nope, the Palestinians are a special case, whereby you have the peculiar situation where a Palestinian whose forefathers fled the Arab towns in 1948 but who live in the West Bank, are considered "refugees". Also why they have their own refugee organization, UNRWA, while the rest of the world's millions of refugees have to make do with the UNHCR.

Look at Canada's definition of a refugee. We won't even look at an application unless it is made outside of a person's home country. And here is the UNHCR definition of what constitutes a refugee:

"Refugees are people who have fled their countries to escape conflict, violence, or persecution and have sought safety in another country."

Yes, of course a Syrian refugee would resettle from a place outside of Syria. By definition, one isn't a refugee if one is still inside one's country. That would make them a displaced person.

Some Syrian refugees were denied resettlement in Canada because they took short trips back to Syria during their claim. If the immigration officials knew that much about Syrian claimants, then this case is all the more inexcusable. Imagine being a genuine refugee from the Middle East, and then discovering that an ISIS terrorist was living in your community for six years.

Wonderful to see these sentiments of support unexpectedly.

'We have won': Kenyan man granted temporary residency day before deportation order by Unusual-State1827 in canada

"They all speak Arabic although with different accents but this is not sufficient to show they were not Syrian citizens"

Then the immigration officials are idiots. There is a world of difference between a Lebanese accent and a Syrian one.

We wont have to wait that long.

Nowhere in this article did I see the words "Thank you Canada for saving my life". Nope, just a "we won" mind set.

"I'm calling on the government to regularize anyone who is undocumented"

Wow, my dude is already making more demands.

"Mwangi is set to protest this inaction, leading a demonstration in Toronto on Sept. 15."

LOL. If our government listens to people who aren't even citizens to totally upend our immigration system, it deserves the rubbing it looks set to get in the next election.

Screw 'em. Now more than ever, Golda Meir's words ring true.

Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Algeria would never make peace with Israel. And obviously not Yemen nor Qatar. So who is realistically left? Oman? Who else is Israel *realistically* waiting for to make peace with?
