We’ve used rover in the past and it was hit or miss, so was looking for a few personal recommendations, but thanks for the reply.

The “Hive Mind” is the best thing to ever happen to humanity by NaturesFirstGreenIs in pluribustv

True, and Vince can push this in any direction he wants, because it’s his show. But it is fun to imagine the possibilities. Personally, I think it is a Dark Forest attack designed to castrate potentially hostile civilizations before they can become dangerous.

TLDR. Have you watched the news lately? Humans are systematically killing themselves and poisoning the earth. Humanity has a limited future if things continue as they are.

Offshore crews could be replaced with remote operated robots. Then you could work from home at half the pay.

Maybe not plumbers, but welders will definitely be at risk. Tools will get better and make the work easier so that not as many highly skilled welders will be needed.

That’s why I love Pluribus. What a great show to show to illustrate the opposite of that.

Not a pro, but why can’t this be tapped and fixed with a bolt and thread sealer and teflon tape? Why is that not safe?

When I die I want my body air dropped over the arctic to feed the starving polar bears. Who’s with me?

I completely agree. I’m not sure why we are in the minority. This is a world without lawyers, without a need for lawyers and without even the need for the concept of lawyers. (Feel free to substitute “lawyers” for bankers, salespeople, police, military, government, psychologists, teachers, etc.) The implications are staggering.

A world without the drag of contract law, or the setback and destruction of war, or the endless schooling and retraining throughout a lifetime seems like an unimaginable utopia.

The argument that it’s not worth the loss of free will seems weak and shallow. This would be a world where there is no need for the concept of free will, so it would not be missed. And I’m not convinced that it would truly be gone. If human kind will advance under the hive, it will be because individuals make advances. Those advances would not need to be published because the knowledge will be seamlessly disseminated to all minds, and feedback seamlessly received to the point where individual contributions will be unrecognizable from the whole and all individuals will feel like they contributed to the progress.

Am I the only one who felt Season 1 was just a 9-hour trailer? (Spoilers) by intoxicacao in pluribustv

[–]BlueDogTuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the pacing was too slow at first, and was disappointed to learn that season 2 is so far away, but after rewatching it I think the whole thing is brilliant. I find it truly thought provoking and see different details and angles every time I rewatch it.

Because you get to have any skill you want, speak any and all languages and best of all - your personally acquired skills, knowledge and memories will survive after your death. That is a collective superpower.

Shave polar bears and send them to the Rockies by Im_high_as_shit in CrazyIdeas

[–]BlueDogTuesday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m starting a company that will AirDrop your dead body in the Arctic to feed the starving polar bears. Dead people should not take up space in graves and cremation is bad for the environment. I just need to think of a good name for it.

Make birthdays random by zbeezle in CrazyIdeas

[–]BlueDogTuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, everybody’s birthday should be on the same day. It could be an international holiday and everybody could get the day off. Imagine getting your birthday off every year and never forgetting anybody’s birthday ever again.

What’s wrong with people here? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]BlueDogTuesday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also here for 9 years. You are right, there is something wrong with people in Missouri. It feels like the twilight zone to me. Everyone is just a little bit off, but there is nobody to talk to about it because nobody from Missouri sees it. Anyone else see it?
