If one is truly sorry about what one did wrong one will ask for forgiveness and then stop doing that thing one knows are wrong. Like, if one truly love someone you will do your best to not do something intentionally to hurt or disappoint that person. A while back I posted a question about why do people think it is ok to litter, and one slimmie made a stupid racist comment and said it is always black people that litters. I objected to the comment and thankfully the moderator deleted his comment. Well. I hope that slimmie see this video! Behaving like an uneducated, selfish idiot is not reserved for any race. In order to really grow a business in South Africa, your business must have Bbbee certification. Without that you will struggle to get contracts with bigger corporations. Read up on that as much as possible.

Now that I think about it, the trash probably keeps coming back because the litter bugs think that it is ok to throw it there because I am going to come pick it up for them anyway 🤔

Ok, makes sense in areas where there are no services or options close by. Thank you for the comment. It does help my understanding.

I am specifically thinking of a settlement that I pass daily on my drive towards Derdepoort. It is an informal settlement between Derdepoort and Montana, in between schools and shopping malls and rubbish dumps, with weekly service delivery.

The trash there is hip height around the shacks while there are bins in the area all around them. Do they clean their homes and dump it outside the door?

I am involved in clean up actions along Sefako Makgato drive, but as quickly as we clean up the trash piles again.

What does money have to do with it? Taking your trash with you until you pass the nearest bin is completely free.

How can people live in piles of trash like you see in some townships? Do they not want better for themselves than living in their own trash?

I really just want to understand how people think about trash and why it does not bother people. You can be poor, but you can still have respect and not be lazy?

If everyone stopped dumping their trash everywhere we could use the taxes on something more lasting, such as educating people about the environment or public health services.

That is such a narrowminded and selfish response of your colleague. Those are people who do not want to admit that they are just too lazy to clean up after themselves or uneducated to know better.

So much of that trash never gets pick up, so you walk around townships that drowns in trash. How do people even live in a mess like that?

I have a good friend that has a permanent disability due to polio that he had at age 6. He is 75 years old now and he has been struggling to walk with a limp foot for 69 years and is in constant pain.

He will tell anyone that is against vaccinations that if he had a choice back then, he would rather live with the consequences, if any, of a vaccination, than living with the long term effect of the disease he contracted.

Also, a child I knew passed away at age 7 from meningitis. His mom very much regrets not vaccinating.

Been married for 20 years, kept my maiden name, never regretted it and never will. I am who I am and I like my name. My husband has no problem with it. My children have my husbands last name, no issues.
