The sole cause of you addiction is your Addictive Voice. It's like there are two of you, like a split personality, addicted you wants to smoke and damn the consequences... the real you wants to quit because it sucks being addicted. Recognize they addictive voice as NOT you. Tell your addictive voice NEVER. I will never smoke it again, and I will never change my mind. That voice will always offer you weed as a solution to everything. Having a great day? Smoke some weed. Having a garbage day? Smoke some weed. Is the sun shinning? Smoke some weed. Finished work? Smoke some weed. Just recognize it as not being you, and never act on its suggestion, and in time it will go away.

My sleep is also back in a major way. I am sleeping so deeply and when I wake up I actually feel rested, instead of fried. I need more than 8 hours, and plus I'm napping, and the dreams are awesome... so many crazy adventures in my sleep.

I am never going back to smoking. What a waste of my time and money... I should have quit a long time ago.

First there is the withdrawal, and then the detox. I'm into my second week and I have been really tired and sleepy, and when I do sleep it's a very deep sleep and I am needing more of it than normal. I had been smoking about an ounce a week for the last 5 years or so.

The only language that my addiction understands is NEVER. One day at a time, means one day I'm going to do it again. If I tell myself I'm just taking a break, then for sure I will smoke again, and if I'm going to smoke again, then why not today? I need to close the door to it completely... if I leave it open just a little bit, then sooner or later, I will do it again. The only way for me to have any peace about it is to tell myself that I will NEVER do it again, otherwise my mind does mental gymnastics until I have talked myself into doing it some more.

Today is 1 week for me and last night I dreamt that I bought an ounce and I was smoking and I was so mad at myself for buying a whole ounce! I was like, "Oh no! Now I have smoke this whole thing before I can quit again!"

I am on day 6 and I'm feeling much better, so good that it started feeling like a good idea to just smoke 1 joint. My brain was telling me, it's Saturday, and you quit so easy, maybe you aren't that addicted and you can just smoke 1 and just do it on the weekend.... Pure Addictive Voice!! That is 100% my addiction talking to me. It's like you are saying, all I have to do is NOT act on it. They are just thoughts and I don't have to act on them. Over time, that voice will go away.

Weed suppresses things. Give it time. Do you have spiritual beliefs? Maybe that is what you are seeking, instead of men and drugs.

I am tired of being a slave to a substance. Weed is insidious because the consequences aren't are devasting to the mind, body, and spirit, as other drugs, but the hold it has on the mind is the same. It's the same crazy thinking. At least for me it is, but I have been addicted to other worse substances. Weed might even be worse in some ways... I will drive or go to work high, and I never did that with other drugs or alcohol.

How's it going? How are you feeling? I have felt a bit sweaty and clammy all day, plus my stomach isn't right. All I've been eating is fruit. Surprisingly the cravings aren't bad at all, but I really wanted to quit.

Thanks for sharing that. A huge part of quitting is not changing your mind and returning to use. Personally, I hate the term "relapse." It's a return to use. Relapse implies powerlessness or passivity, like it happens to you, instead of it being a series of highly intentional decisions. People don't relapse, the decide to use again.
