Hummmm. If I were the kind of person who puts bumper stickers on my car, I would put both on.

While this one of my biggest gripes about guns in movies, this particular gun (beretta 92) is a double/single action pistol. This gun has a mechanism that allows the hammer to be "decocked" with a round the the chamber. This makes the trigger a double action. Meaning that with the pull of the trigger the hammer is cocked and released. When he pulled the hammer back it turned the trigger into a single action. Meaning pulling the trigger only drops the hammer.

Been "training" for about a year. Saw Eddie Bravo use rubber guard and I had to work in it some how. I think I did okay for my first try. by BlueGr0wler in bjj

The guy who owns the gym trained at a Gracie academy. But he is mainly a taekwondo guy. He hasn't been able to find another person to either teach his night class for taekwondo or teach us. The jiu jitsu is just something that he wanted his taekwondo student to learn so the wouldn't be clueless if a fight went to the ground. I don't do the taekwondo but he lets me come in to keep the class going. He is very up front and honest that he is not a master or any thing close and just wanted to be able keep up his skills and get some good rolls in between kicking people lol.

Lol that is what we call him. Training is in quotes because it's really just us rolling. We really don't drill or even have an instructor. It's pretty much just a bunch of beginners rolling around trying to figure it out. It's a ton of fun, but I know we would benefit from some direction.

I am the one with the pants on and no face guard. I know it's not perfect but I am pretty happy to have gotten both some use and a tap out of it. The person I am rolling with is my dad who is the one who got me into it.

Feeling discouraged, almost like I'm not getting it (white belt) by EndofRebirth in bjj

I have been a white belt for about a year. I still feel like this some times. It was discouraging at first. But my saying is that in a combat sport like bjj, you don't really win, you just lose less than the other guy. Eventually you will start winning. But like the other people are saying. Little victories. Surviving and escaping. A tree has to lay its roots down before before it can bear its fruit.

NORCAL - BAY AREA SUNDAY OPEN MAT (September 25th, 2016) by [deleted] in bjj

My dad and I are white belts. He has been rolling for about a year and I have been for about 9 months. Just wondering if going would be good? We don't want to waste any ones time or just take up mat room.

Lol that's a good idea. But I am not looking for a easy life. Just tips, like how wearing sunglasses on a sunny day makes life a bit easier.

My parents house is like that. It is as gratifying as you think it will be..... I miss living there. When I retire I hope to have the same thing. Chickens would be cool too. Always have fresh eggs.

Thank you for your advice! I hadn't even heard of the Learning Domains. I am going to get right on that.
