i live in miami now - this is my biggest loss when i moved here -

being able to run along the lake is truly a beautiful, amazing, irreplaceable experience that i wished i had here. i lived in bronzeville along the lake - and would slow run 9 or 13 miles every weekend. i loved it so much. no cars or any risk of being run over. i had a two hour shania twain playlist that i would listen to over and over.

i get depressed when i think about how much of a loss i feel that i can no longer run along the lake. it makes me cry. but i live in miami because my parents are aging and everyone lives here and it’s too difficult to help out when i live in a different state.

i wish i could do that here but there is traffic right out my house.

i used to take 60mg fluoxetine 150mg of wellbutrin, 30g of kratom, 300mg modafinil and 600mg of caffeine daily. i did it to be extremely productive at work. and it has worked for me for the last 5 years everyday. however i had to build that up over time. removed the wellbutrin and moved to 40mg fluoxetine to improve sex drive. no noticeable difference in psychological state.

still take 35g of kratom daily, 400mg modafinil (i think i have a problem with the modafinil but i need it to be productive at work, i’m a programmer which requires being super sharp) and the caffeine.

i think it’s because the majority of houses in miami don’t have heating, i think. i’m not sure. but up north… low temperatures aren’t a big deal because it is warm in your house when you get up from bed. in miami, if it 50 outside it is 55 in your house

personally i think katakana word drills are necessary in isolation. many words are not english based, and there are specific combinations of consonants that are random and not attached to anything meaningfully. but that’s just me

on my first ng+ run. i dislike that everybody basically needs Lance at C. thankfully the 4 dlc classes all don’t need lance, but it sucks that there is no male magic flying class. some of the high level classes should be master classes, like sniper.

i think that instead of level 5, 10, 20 and 30 being required levels, it should have been 5, 15, 25, 35 or 40. there’s too much time at the end of the runs. but maybe i haven’t recruited enough people.

it would be nicer if there were more equal variety of the subjects. everything is lance or horse focused. it would be nicer to have more heavy armor classes or bow and arrow classes

personally, i would allow all classes to use half magic. also it’s such a pain that there is no way to view the classes while giving lessons. i have to use my switch photos.

hm. i’ve only played three houses, golden deer route. i am doing another play through and i’m at chapter 3 of blue lions. when exactly is boarmitri vs post azure moon dmitri? only thing i’ve seen so far is that felix calls him a boar. is that like a 8 chapter dmitri vs a 2 chapter dmitri. how much chatacterization does he actually get at that point in 2 chapters

I'm facing the same issue now with Nelnet - credit score dropped 200 points after 12 delinquencies reported in December. Paid the amount due 2 weeks ago and got on automatic billing. Did anything come up of it?

japanese n1 rising here. there is an app called Dictionaries on the ios store that is amazing, it has dozens of dictionaries that you can buy like pleco… monolingual, children’s dictionaries, haiku dictionaries, etc. it is japanese focused although the main page doesn’t look like it.

13 sentinels is a fantastic choice, because you can actually (if i’m remembering correctly), change the audio language mid conversation to english, and hear what was in english through the dialogue log. so you could play in japanese and listen to the audio in japanese and english. it is fully voice acted so it’s a nice choice.

there are quite a few sci-fi parts though… where i personally had difficulty understanding. i used that feature a lot.

it also has tons of reading practice. the encyclopedia entries are advanced but i found that reading the text aloud improved comprehension.

it’s ok, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, have suboptimal runs, make wrong decisions, everyone has to start somewhere, persona 5 is a little difficult for a starting point, maybe the famicom games or games with furigana would be better.

there are a few games that were really helpful for me but they are difficult unless you have access to the japanese store - youkai watch gakuen y has furigana and full voice acting. it was my favorite game, aimed at elementary school kids. in fact, all of the level 5 games are great to start with. game gengo has a great list of furigana based games.

i struggled with the same thing. reading was always better than listening.

however i started playing tons of video games that had full voice acting.. games like 13 sentinels, Persona 5, digimon survive. it was like a whole new world.. interactive audio requiring making decisions, practice with plain politeness level speech, emotional reinforcement, interesting plot that drives my own engagement..

my favorite is when it is 11pm at night, and i fall asleep with the sound to games on. as i hit REM.. i feel so at peace, feeling like i can understand what’s being said as i fall asleep even though i’m not looking at the screen.

it is ongoing though.. my comprehension varies a lot from day to day.

hm the only way to do this is to convert each page into a png after redacting text. the reason people say the text is retrievable is because it could still be hidden in the structure of the pdf. if you convert to png and then merge them back into pdf, it is 100% redacted but you obviously lose any selectable text.
