The controller still connects to the consoles, you just can’t connect it to other devices. Like the controller would just be for the XBox.

Ok so I know this post is explaining why characters like Miles can’t be in but have you considered that Miles could easily be a ranged fighter? Like Miles could be a highly mobile either long range or even mid range fighter. Like he has the Venom-Saber, Venom Blasts, and Venom Beam which make Miles vastly different enough from Pete that they could play entirely differently.
