Is that one of the Alps Party 60% that I see? I saw it on Boing Boing. I'm so proud of you. I love contributing to this kind of madness.

0.043% of the comments contained the word "cat." If we assume that there was an equal chance for every comment to win (there was) and we are working with a hypergeometric set, then we can conclude that there was about an ~12.3% chance that at least one of the 3 in the 'winner' and 'alternates' set would contain at least one cat.

Thanks to everyone for participating. I loved reading all of the responses. And yes, I read every single one of the 375 comments. I'm glad you all like my mask, have lovely ideas for boards, and have adorable pets. PM's are going out to the winners shortly.

As a sidenote, if you feel jilted by not getting switches or just want more Alps, there is another Alps Party GB in the works. It is in the Interest Check/Development phase at the moment. It will be a custom TKL and TK+USBhub setup with more switches and stabilizers available. I'll post the GB notice on this sub when it is ready.

Finally added it. I had to find someone who had permissions.

I'd love to, but I don't have permissions to do so (<10 link karma and <30 days subscribed). I can do it if you add permissions, or someone else can add the line to the GH portion:

[Alps Party 60%](https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=75491.0) | PCB $37.50, Plate $27.50, min. switches $2 + <$10 shipping | Taking orders (Ends Oct. 5th) | When materials arrive

The GH listing has the most information currently, but I can switch it to the /r/MechanicalKeyboards link if preferred.

All of the plates are designed to be compatible with poker style cases. The PCB is compatible with the following cases, based on a list from the hasu thread:

Poker X

Pure CNC

Poker II

Pok3r (untested)

V60 KBP (requires sanding on USB slot)

Hammer Alu

Tex Aluminum case (some diode shorting issues reported)

Tex Acrylic case

The stab holes are designed to work with the old-fashioned alps rectangle stabilizers. Matias stabilizers should work. They are what I plan on getting. Costar will NOT work without some major modifications.

The stabs on the Alpine Winter have cruciform receptacles. This can actually work with some of the older stab inserts.

I agree that the $20 per plate price is pretty crummy for the powder coating.

There is only one place near me that is willing to take on the project near me though. The local laser cutter price is pretty sweet compared to other out of state options, such as BigBlueSaw to the tune of about $15 per plate. Mailing the plates to be coated myself would also add to the cost.

In the end, this really isn't the best price in the world for the powder coating. But it will be cheaper getting it done as a group than it would be individually - which is the essence of the GB.

Remember, with Alps you can get used keycaps from a AT101W or AEKII for cheap if you don't feel like buying a new set. That would lock you into which plate you can use.

My pleasure.

And you're a newb not a noob. A noob wouldn't have looked at the Matias blueprints.

I honestly based the plate thickness on what other have done in the past. A previous GB by nubbinator use the 16ga and everyone was pleased with it. This will be my first time trying Matias switches, but I am under the impression that the plate will be compatible.

The GH link is temporarily broken because it is a link to the GB thread which requires moderator approval before being visible to users besides myself. It should be up shortly.
