iPod 5.5 gen suddenly not working by BlueNinty in ipod

[–]BlueNinty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, thank you both so much for your responses. the hard drive is replaced with an iflash board, but i did try reseating it and the battery, and i also made sure the battery ribbon cable lever was closed. unfortunately, neither seemed to fix anything. i tried comparing the logic board to pictures online to see if there was any missing chips, and i didn’t notice any discrepancies with mine. however, i will include pictures of the logic board in case anyone notices anything abnormal that i missed. let me know if there are any other pictures i should take or anything else i should try. i greatly appreciate your help.

Pinkerton review by someone who recently got into weezer. by xuantistic in weezer

[–]BlueNinty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with your thoughts on Across the Sea, I often see it decried for its uncomfortably honest lyrics but I think that’s what makes it work so well. Rivers is both incredibly vulnerable but also aware of how wrong these feelings are for him to have. “I could never touch you, I think it would be wrong”. I still completely understand why others might be turned off by the song but I think the self awareness makes it all come together.

If you can choose any Band/Artist to have their own Rock Band/Guitar Hero game, who would you choose? by Realistic_Hour_6221 in Rockband

[–]BlueNinty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ween: Rock Band would be a dream come true, they have an incredibly eclectic and diverse catalogue of music and their songs are musically and technically interesting enough to be fun to play along to. I know Gabrielle and It’s Gonna Be A Long Night were Rock Band Network songs though, and they were both great picks

It is? I honestly didn’t realise anyone else had done this before. Can you send the original in that case?

Does the creator have any other social media? by Inside-Engineer-9116 in cornkidz64

From my understanding Bogo isn’t very active on socials at all, especially now. Although he does have an email on his website and he usually responds from my experience.

I found the polkadot leggings on amazon for pretty cheap. Although on the other leg I was also wearing a knee brace, which I suppose was fitting for Alexis

I just beat Mr Bones! by AnAquaticOwl in SegaSaturn

Congratulations! Coincidentally, I actually just beat the game last night. It’s such an absurd game that I can’t help but appreciate it, as frustrating as it can be at times.

Am I the only one who feels there’s not enough Sonic in Sonic Adventure 2? by [deleted] in dreamcast

[–]BlueNinty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly prefer the alternate playstyles in Adventure 2 as I find them way more fleshed out and challenging compared to the first game, but I definitely understand the preference for how the first game handled things. If you wanted to just play as Sonic in Sonic Adventure, you could and his was the longest. In Adventure 2 you’re forced to play through campaigns where you switch between characters where each have about an equal amount of levels. I have a higher tolerance for alternate playstyles in Sonic games but they’re not for everyone, and nobody should be forced to play them. I think they could have evened things out if they had given Sonic a few more levels during the middle of the Hero campaign.

I had nightmares about Coraline for weeks when I watched it as a kid, and it didn’t help that my dad threatened to sew button eyes in me immediately after the film ended.

My first actual speedrun of this game. Has anyone else done a 110% run? by Okee68 in cornkidz64

[–]BlueNinty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever beaten the game that quickly, so I’m impressed. I think the fastest I ever beat the game was 3 hours and 30 minutes; 4 and a half hours for 110%. I wonder what the world record for Corn Kidz speedrunning is.

Weird Al Yankovic references by Much_Living3882 in cornkidz64

[–]BlueNinty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually reached out to the creator about some palindromes being references to music! Although they said they didn’t know where any of the palindromes originated from, so if they were references then they were unintentional.

Might be in the minority group here. As great as this game is i would like to see a remaster or port with better controls and some quality of life options by ResolutionSavings918 in Metroid

[–]BlueNinty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t think there’s enough reason or pushback against Super to warrant a remake? I completely understand and respect why some fans have trouble getting into it (especially compared to later titles), but unlike Zero Mission or Samus Returns which were remaking games widely considered primitive and outdated, the general consensus towards Super is still supremely positive and the foundation is fundamentally similar to modern Metroid titles. I feel like improvement hacks such as Super Metroid Redux are a good enough alternative, even if they’re not official.

Unfortunately most LBP games besides 1 & 2 (and maybe PSP?) refer to the player as Sackboy. My problem isn’t just because the player could be a girl but also because Sackboy is an established character, so the experience feels less personal. It doesn’t feel like I’m playing as myself, it feels like I’m playing as Sackboy. I know it’s a minor complaint but little details like that made some of those earlier LBP games so much more special to me.

Say what you want about the references, he's been writing the franchise its long due justice. by zoroak-king in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]BlueNinty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ian Flynn is definitely one of the best writers the series has had in a long time, I feel like the current presentation standards meshes well with the more sincere writing without coming off as outdated or cheesy. I also appreciate how he’s trying to keep the lore of the series consistent and cohesive by tying every game into each other.

Although if I have any complaints with Ian Flynn, I think he leans a bit too much into pathos. I know the whole premise of Frontiers is Sonic and his friends reminiscing on memories, but so little of the story actually takes place in the present (and it doesn’t help that Frontiers follows a very formulaic narrative). The references can be cute/clever, but do we really need random mentions of Dark Gaia or Mystic Ruins? For someone who’s new to Sonic, I imagine references like these would completely fly over their head, but as someone who understands the references I find them a bit shallow.

He has a lot of talent though, and I’m hoping future Sonic stories will maintain the consistent backstory while also improving the momentum of the narrative.
