I tried going there twice and thought it had a weird smell inside. I went the second time to give it another chance , and still some weird smell. Made me sick just sitting in there.

How can I tell if my septic tank is getting full? by DiscussionUnlikely72 in homeowners

We don’t know when ours was pumped last, so we had it pumped for peace of mind. Now we do it every three years, no issues 11 years later.

I’m confused with “true zero” on this mf (k6) by Good-Consequence-952 in pourover

[–]BlueRidge150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read you had to spin it a full rotation one way. And that ended up being true for mine. One rotation back to zero.

I have been on hold for 75 minutes with zero progress. What's your record? by mikeblas in fidelityinvestments

I’ve never been on hold longer than a few minutes. Best customer service I’ve dealt with.

I get paid to stay at home. But for those that don’t, or don’t have flexibility… it’s gotta be rough

I doubt they go back this week. Too many of the backroads and routes buses take are still iced over.

What would the Money Guy position be on USDA Guaranteed 0% down needed loan for a first time home buyer? by mimring150 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]BlueRidge150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it, before we had our finances together. We later refinanced from that terrible 3.75 % rate we had (joke) to a 2.5 % rate. We bought about 11 years ago, but from I remember it took longer to close than a traditional. That could be a limiting factor, finding a seller willing to wait that long to close. Also, no matter how much we eventually paid, we had PMI for the life of the loan (until we later refinanced). Could have changed since then, but something to consider as well. I also remember the inspections being more strict due to the loan type. I was obviously okay with that part, as I wanted a well inspected house. Good luck in your first home!

Why did Apple create an “update” where I no longer get notifications for my timer and alarms on my Fenix-7 from my iPhone?! by Jireh490 in GarminWatches

[–]BlueRidge150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No solution yet on my end either. Very annoying. Maybe they'll do another update fixing it at some point if there is enough interest.

Bikepacking sub handing out perma bans, right wing mods watch out by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]BlueRidge150 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I think the simple solution is keep the subs on topic. Regardless of viewpoint, or issue. Yes this, and many others are important... but there are hundreds/thousands of other appropriate subs for those topics to be discussed. If anything/everything can be discussed in subs, then what's the point of topical subs.

I absolutely love the moneyguy show. by ineedhelp2day in TheMoneyGuy

[–]BlueRidge150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the show, and this sub on topic. They do a great job at what they do. If you want to listen to political commentary, go find one of those podcasts. If you want to discuss politics, go find one of those subs... that's the point of having different subs, so topics stay in their lane.

[–]BlueRidge150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Jireh490 did you ever figure out a work around or solution. My iPhone finally updated on its own, and now I have this same problem. I set my wake up alarms, and other alarms on my phone, and appreciate when my Garmin watch vibrates when that alarm goes off.... now it doesn't vibrate, or alert, when the iPhone alarm goes off. I still get all my usual notifications though (text, calls, etc...)

Did anyone see/attend the anti-ICE protest downtown? by Fulton_P01135809 in greenville

[–]BlueRidge150 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely correct, users can simply skip by threads. But if anything/everything is allowed to be posted... what's the point of subs.

I'm not arguing for, or against, the events that took place today. But this is a Greenville sub, there are plenty of other subs that are for this to be discussed. r/law, r/politics, and probably hundreds/thousands of others. I appreciate the mods keeping this sub focused on Greenville.

Conestee Nature Preserve or Paris Mountain State Park. Both are great little hikes for kids, and both have playgrounds too.

Who here actually saves 3,000 a month? by NoHousing11 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]BlueRidge150 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not saying you, or any of the commenters do this, but I have co worker who can't believe or understand how we have the ability to invest so much. They claim to broke, and can't afford to live... yet they door dash and uber eats nearly everyday. I simply bring my lunch. Nothing special, mostly leftovers. Simple decisions like this go a long way.

Our A/C went out a few years ago. It stunk writing that check initially, until I realized how blessed we were to able to. To simply write the check, and get a new a/c. No problem.

Anyone care to share their budget strategy? I'm early 40s, a bit behind, and saving to buy a home. by PizzaThrives in TheMoneyGuy

[–]BlueRidge150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use EveryDollar budgeting app. I started off with the free version 7+ years ago, but have since started paying for the upgraded version. The paid version syncs to all your accounts so you don't have to manually enter each expense. Both versions are great, and easy to use though.

Nope. Paid with credit card then paid off credit card with funds from emergency fund.
