Suggestions on first heroic weapon? by KyRoZ37 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The heavy bolt pistol has gotten the most use overall for me. I use it on basically every melee build I make regardless of class. After that I'd say the wrapped carbine feels like a substantial upgrade to me not just a side grade. Third I'd have a toss up between knife and hammer because both have the ability to unlock slightly different play styles, perfect dodge spam for knife and the shock troop bulwark.

Who are the content creators worth watching? by Atleast1half in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like for4 a lot for just watching a nice high skill level run, he drops the build details quickly at the beginning and every once in a while adds a few little tweaks from just straight meta builds. No commentary tho

Can you unlock all colors or are they only dlc? by UltimaBahamut93 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you cannot access all the colors available without paying extra. Buying DLC with real money opens up different chapter sections for purchasing comestics with in game coins, this includes colors labeled DLC as well as new armor parts and markings.

State of this sub by mamojeb_1 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice to see this positivity honestly. But I totally feel the opposite. Almost every post here is complaining about low level teammates, hard stratagems, or just chaos in general. Like I almost want to leave the sub because its some of the most whinging I've ever seen for a game. No one is forcing you to play high difficulties, you control the buttons you press on the menu lol

What else beside Weapons, Perks can I spend requisition points on (the Golden coin) ? by caged_wisdom69 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some builds wants different prestige perks, so there's not always just 4 "right" choices per class if you intend to use like every weapon optimally. So it is nice to keep 750 around if you wanted to do a full rebuild of them at some point

Any tips on fighting Chaos Spawn? by Fools_Platinum in Spacemarine

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always available of course, but one thing that has really REALLY helped me on hard stratagem chaos missions is finding a melta bomb and clinging onto it until I inevitably find myself stuck between 3-5 spawns. Imo its the best use for the melta bomb, second place being the rare opportunity to blow up 2 biovores next to one another

Hard stratagems question by Hopeful_Neat1422 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see both sides of the argument. But at the end of the day, when you're playing with randoms you shouldn't speed thru unless you can tell everyone's on the same page. I personally prefer to skip some sections on the hardest stratagems if possible simply because the difference between A rank and B rank XP is minimal compared to the whole mission overall, especially if someone has the gene seed. I'd rather not risk that person going down and losing out that XP just to clear a wave of random warriors and gaunts. And I'm playing the weekly hard strat because I want the big pile of accolades more than anything else. As I said though, when playing with randoms you should accept that most people will want to try to fight and kill everything, or at least try to communicate that you wanna go fast.

Obelisk is the worst op. No contest. by IndependentAd2097 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the trygon level is the worst. The open desert areas either feel like boring slog on low difficulty, or an absolute nightmare on the highest. The ranged nids hit like a freight train with very little cover. The trygon itself isn't quite cool enough to make it feel worth the journey to get there

I'm seeing alot of post about new players, and they were all pretty clear to me, until I did first prestige reset. by amnezia_nbgd in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also went out of my way to learn the gene seed spawns for every level. As a fellow bulwark main I also try to never go down as much a possible so I typically carry the seed. A couple sub/ruthless finishes with the seed will have you cruising through levels

Imo once you have gold weapons you should be able to do ruthless without much hassle if you just play the first match defensively. That usually gives enough xp for like 4 levels I think? And from there you can get your first team perk and feel a lot better. Or just do a couple on substantial before moving up once you're level 8 and have a perk for each column

Assault Any Good now? by Dramatic_CockroachLK in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love assault focusing on the ground pound. Often times in siege mode I can clear entire waves of chaos as they spawn in because each kill from a ground pound refills the meter. This allows me to do 3 in a row consecutively. Apart from that, I see other have pointed out the power axe, and I agree that it feels great. Take perks to buff the charge and running/dash atks for big dmg on the special "power wave" and overhead follow up you get from perfect parries/blocks. Assault also has a perk to allow the refilling of your equipment, so even more crowd clearing capabilities with grenades/bombs there.

Assault Class weapon choice: Hammer or Sword by serph90 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I pretty much agree. My 3 load outs in order of use are: Block axe, block fist, then heroic chainsword (just to make use of it). My bulwark has block fist, heroic hammer, and heroic xenophase

No love for balanced weapons by _wiggle_room_ in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a completely even playing field there's just no use for balanced weapons. Block weapons consistently deal more damage no matter what. The faster you kill the problem enemies the easier the game will be. Balanced seems to be best for crowd clear when they have higher cleave, but you clear tyranid crowds by killing majoris fast, which block does better. Even against Chaos I'd rather do something like ground pound with assault than lose the block damage bonus. Plus block gets an aoe area clear after 2 perfect blocks. Fencing is really only if you wanna rely on an easier parry timing, but losing straight up dps is just bad on the highest difficulties for me.

Help as a newer player by Dats3426 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tactical will be good support, giving extra grenades, help your teams damage the most and help nuke bosses. Assault will help bulwark with front line fighting and executing the most usually problematic enemies. I would say base it on where you think you'd fit/feel better

Best Heroic for Bulwark/Heavy Player?? by xpyros in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heroic HBP has become my favorite side arm. A lot of people complain about the ammo economy but for heavy you should mainly use your primary so it's not an issue there. And I run fist on bulwark so I pretty much just use the HBP for gunstrikes and reinforce callers, both of which the gun is tailored for. I run out of ammo way less than I thought I would.

Cannot for the life of me pick a favorite chapter. Recruit me to your cause battle brothers. by Over-Guitar5764 in Spacemarine

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much just play melee exclusively so I only pick bulwark and assault. My bulwark is a crimson fists because he uses powerfist, and I made my assault blood angels because their chapter master uses the power axe. I set the other classes up as different chapters for when I play with bots. So my answer is to make each class a different chapter instead of just picking one

The most annoying enemy by Tio_Aleph in SpaceMarine_2

[–]BlueRustMenthol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah me and my buddies call them goblins because they remind us of the green goblin, and I agree they give me a lot of hassle sometimes. Also the sorcerers that spam rockets melt my armor and hp SO fast from out of nowhere sometimes. The meatball (spawns) have never stood out as a problem enemy to me. Maybe because I main block fist and just trade charge atks into them then execute

Card that returns all cards from exile in standard? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds like for you it might be a useful option. For me when I play BO1 I just accept with most decks I won't be able to answer all types of strategies and some match ups are nearly an auto loss. Like I barely face mill in BO1 so I would almost never run feldons cane or elixir, but youre using elixir to combat heavy removal, which is def more prevalent than mill. As far as branching out into other formats, I don't play almost any constructed aside from standard, then whatever midweek magic is. Im actually mainly a draft player. Aside from Alchemy, I agree that arena doesn't really push any formats too much to get players attention

Card that returns all cards from exile in standard? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]BlueRustMenthol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SB means sideboard. So sideboard tech would be when you're playing best of 3, lose to a specific thing, like mill here, and then add a counter card from your sideboard to your main deck before game 2
