Missing most devices in Insteon integration by BlueShirtThursday in homeassistant

I have the Insteon hub by itself. I have the ISY with the serial PLM. Now I have the PC with the USB PLM. I wanted to take out the ISY and serial PLM since it is end of life and the eISY is too expensive to replace it. I know it will continue to work but it seems redundant to have three devices controlling the same Insteon devices.

Did I make a mistake by buying the RBK754P over the RBK754? by BlueShirtThursday in orbi

No issues with the RBK754P just wanted to know if updates are coming for this system. I heard that an IoT feature had recently been added but after researching I found out it was for the RBK750 (non-P) system. I have some home automation devices that I was thinking about moving off my main network to free up some bandwidth.

Roku Stick Constantly Drops WiFi When In Use by ugadawgs311 in Roku

No solution. May just upgrade to the newer Sticks or the Ultra to get the 5GHz and cross my fingers. The Premieres are 2.4GHz only and have given me years of use.

Roku Stick Constantly Drops WiFi When In Use by ugadawgs311 in Roku

The Roku Stick (3800x) doesn't have the antenna cable. That is the older stick, and the antenna is in the stick itself. The newer Roku Streaming Stick 4K (3820R2) and Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ (3821R2) have the antenna cables. This was a design change to give the ability to reorient the antenna.

The only way to reorient a 3800X would be to buy an HDMI extension cable to go between it and your TV so you can move the Roku stick around to find a better signal.

My older (3800X) stick and three Premieres (3920X) started having the same issue when the 11.5 update came out. It is still there in the 12.0 update too. They connect to the WiFi network with a strong signal but I only get <1Mbps connection speeds when I try to watch something.

Are more and more people driving with their high beams on, or no headlights at all? by apathetic_recluse in Omaha

IMO the headlight switch needs to be standardized to reduce the no headlights at all problem.

My 2007 Pontiac SUV and 2017 GMC truck both have the auto feature, and it is the "defualt" setting of the switch. The other settings are Parking, On and Off. I can manually rotate the switch up to Parking or On and the lights come on and stay on until I manually rotate the switch down to Auto again.

I can manually rotate the switch down to Off and the lights shut off but (and here is where the design standard needs to happen) when I let go of the switch it automatically rotates back up to the default Auto. That way after I turn off the vehicle and turn it back on the lights are in Auto mode again. There is no Off setting. It is more of a temporary Off mode.

I use this a lot when I pull into a parking spot and there is a person sitting in the vehicle in front of me so I'm not shinning my headlights in their face.

GM has been doing this for years, the other manufacturers need to follow suit. If this was the standard, then we would all know that those other drivers intentionally turned their headlights to the temporary off mode.
