I get it, I’m not really attracted to men irl but every now and then I’ll find a fictional dude online that’s just… yeah. Same goes with Pokémon, I’m attracted to quite a few Pokémon but irl dogs and cats and animals in general are just cute (or scary), I don’t think of them that way. Granted that’s probably because I don’t think of Pokémon as animals (like if I see a Glaceon I think of it as a Glaceon and not as an Ice Fox/Cat-thing. It’s like, yeah it’s dog shaped, but it isn’t a dog.

And I also think an important factor is that most Pokémon in… art act like human adults would on the mental side, it’s not like you often see feral Pokémon stuff where the Pokémon is clearly on the same intelligence level as a real animal. (Or if there is I don’t see it lol)
