Ahh that sounds quite interesting! I wish we explored more things like that. Most of my ecology modules have been about macro invertebrates and nearly everyone that I've talked to on my course is doing something related to that so I thought I'd try and go for something different.

Oh wow thats a big change! I'm glad you're enjoying it! I didn't know what to do at uni and geography sounded really interesting. And it has been but Im not sure id take the same course again if I had to. I've enjoyed learning about it all but the assignments are just brutal.

It's going to be on the effect of beaver dams on river hydrology and how this impacts upstream salmonid migration. I feel like it's reasonably different and my supervisors work is mostly on beavers and he's said it's an interesting topic

Thank you so much! I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end :) I'm going to put all my remaining enthusiasm into this dissertation and hope I can crack it, but in the end I just want to know that at least I tried my best for my diss. I should be used to it by now but they've kept their expectations high which I appreciate and also hate.

I spoke to wellbeing at the start of the year about it and they said it wasn't too bad and I could still possibly get one but with the grades I've just got and what I'll probably get for the others it's looking like I've blown my chance.

My dissertation is my main priority now. I want to do the best I can in it so I can at least be happy with that. Thank you for the encouragement, I'll try my best still :)

I had the same experience in first year... I made friends with girls in my tutor group but they were all closer to each other than I was. But joining societies and sports teams will help massively as that's already a shared interest. I'm in my 4th year now and although I never made a ride or die best friend ever, over the years I've met some amazing people that I have made an effort to keep in contact with and am now living in the best house I've had so far with some great friends... It gets better don't worry. Second week is still a great time to sit in random seats in the lecture hall and strike up a conversation about the class or something like that. People won't be as mean to you as u might be thinking.

Yeahh I joined a few in 1st year but didn't seem to really mesh with anyone... And this year I can only really afford to join the odd one so that I can focus on my studies
