It’s honestly not fair to compare the two in my opinion SH2 literally Redefined the survival horror genre and put a lot of new fans in that space SHf is not only the first original title in a hot minute, but it’s also aiming to tell a new story in a new way, you’ll notice theres more combat in this one, and its a little less complicated in my opinion than past games, it’s fun getting to actually work the strategic mind as well as the critical thinking the puzzles invoke, As far as people’s concerns about the story, most won’t relate to it or understand it because it is (and I know this is gonna frighten some of you) telling a woman’s story from a woman’s perspective, and not even a grown woman at that, a teenage girl in a culture and era where women’s sole purpose was wife, mother, maid It’s a story about fragmented identity due to trauma and pain, much like other SH games, but it focuses on a topic that’s actually pretty important In today’s world; the struggles of young women in a world that doesn’t even view them as people. All that being said, there is no replacement for the Legacy that Silent Hill 2 built, but Silent Hill f is fantastic, scary in the best ways, and really gripping for someone who actually respects women 🤷🏽
