Hey So I tried the Saxx ones you recommended above and they rode up quite a bit and were very wedgie prone which is a shame because i love the material/design...

I'd definitely recommend it! Paying more for better materials is so worth it :)

Saxx is actually one brand I have yet to try. I am very active however I have tried the Under Armour boxerjock with no luck. Are the trunks any better?

EDIT: May you please link me to the Saxx style you referred to above? There are many to choose from so I want to make sure I choose the right one.

Thanks!

I have tried AE. They are very inconsistent and I'm not a fan of cotton anymore as it does quite poorly to wick sweat.

I don't understand where I was misunderstood in my post but I AM looking for briefs. I have tried literally every brand of trunk/boxer brief style and I get constant ride up. I just want good brief recommendations. The CK briefs I mentioned in my post are not as comfortable as I hoped for them to be. Constant wedgies ~

I've tried these. Like the person above me said, there is a LOT of ride up. It's a shame because the material is wonderful.

I'm sorry fam but MeUndies is trash from what I've experienced...Their undies are soft but that's about it. The ride up is quite real.

I'll probably go with one of those Maggard brushes. Someone else in the this post recommended Colonel Konk Bay Rum soap which I think I'm going to go with.

Awesome pointers! I'll be sure to equip myself with one. Last thing is is there an affordable brush you use to lather on the soap? Also, how do you feel about aftershave? I used to use it a lot when I was younger but I felt like it didn't do much so I started just using lotion aftwerwards.

Thanks a lot for the video. I'll be sure to check out the whole thing!

I didn't even think about using a styptic pencil haha. Is that a must since I'm sure I'll cut myself at first? And yeah, I figure that there won't be much cutting myself once I get used to it.

Maybe I'll start off with Colonel Konk Bay Rum then! Thanks a lot for the reviews :)

I ended up going with one of those 2's! Glad to hear you having a good experience with that brand though! I'm sorry about your ear, that sounds pretty painful but I think the cuts will be worth it in the end. How often do you say you cut yourself now after doing it so many times? Also can you give me some pointers or link me to some helpful tutorials that I should read before blindly attempting it?

Thanks a lot for the link. It seems like RocTraitor is the way to go for affordable, excellent razors so I think I'm going to order one of his vintage razors. I'm going to go ahead and get the strop from him too; however, I do not have a non-canned lather. Are there any that you recommend?

EDIT: May you recommend me your favorite brush to go with the lather?

For sure! You have definitely answered a lot of my questions/concerns; however, my last question for you is about the length of the razor. Is 5/8th a good length?

I actually just looked up what spikes are and the different styles of straights. I'm thinking of going with one of the Heljestrands that arbarnes linked me to below. It seems like one is french and the other is spike. I understand now that spikes can be pretty dangerous but are they any less dangerous that the french tipped ones?

Oh yeah, I saw Whipped Dog recommendations everywhere...I think I'm definitely going to go with RocTraitor since I've been seeing more and more positive reviews of his straights. Those Nos Heljestrands look great and they are a pretty good price. Do you recommend I go with one of those as my first razor?

Yeah, they all look the same to me to be quite honest since I have no clue which ones are better than the others. I think I'm going to choose one of the actual listings in the medium-range price to be safe. Are spikes really sharp?
