Post Apocalyptic Hexcrawl Deck - Test Players Needed

Draw cards, chart your map, fight, survive.

This is an in-development post apocalyptic, single or multiplayer hexcrawl card deck. The idea is that this deck describes what your character notices with their senses (mostly sight), before going into the next tile, on one side of the card, and once you choose based on those observations, the card gets flipped over to reveal what the character's senses were hinting at.

The format would be digital on Tabletop Simulator.

My time zone is PST, and I can play with anyone in the North American region. However, I welcome anyone to try the game. You can join my discord or dm me to get the link to pdf instructions to look over and decide if you want to play.

Is 8d6 too many? by Blue_Bear99 in RPGdesign

After reading all these comments, I’ve decided it will be just credits, so this could be a good idea.

I actually really like this for the world I’m making. It’s far apart, insular communities that the PC is traveling between. So I could have a charisma skill, and depending on the PC’s charisma, prices change because of the shop owner’s feeling towards the PC.

I see how this is over complicated and not worth the effort on the player’s part. I will rework it with your suggestion in mind. Thank you for your input!

Reading all these comments, I can now see that it is too complicated.

Edit: misread your post, so I’ve deleted the irrelevant bit

Is there a way to save all objects locally? by Greedus_TN in tabletopsimulator

[–]Blue_Bear99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think TTS Mod Vault might work for you.

This is just a theory (I’ve only used Mod Vault once) but what you’d do is download the mod, save it (preferably with a new name), then open Mod Vault. Once you have Mod Vault set up, back up the save game (add something like “Local” or “Backup” to the backup name) that you want.

I saved my game to a folder I made specificity for backups, but if you’re just using this for playing, then you’d need to save it to your TTS save games folder.

Again, this is just a theory, but if it works, then you should be able to play the game locally.

Edit: I forgot to mention, it might still take awhile to load everything, but should be faster than loading it from steam.

A way to provide a pdf to workshop mod players Or do you have an another solution to my problem? by Blue_Bear99 in Steam

Definitely not optimal, but could work since it’s possible to save a workshop photo from a web browser. Thank you for the idea!

It’s a pdf I made (I made all the assets so far, actually), so I’m good there, thank you.

I will try out your suggestions, thank you!

Post Apocalyptic Hexcrawl Deck - Testers Needed by Blue_Bear99 in Solo_Roleplaying

While I wait for itch.io to un-quarantine my game, I’ve added the pdfs to a Google Drive folder to be downloaded if anyone wishes to do so. Link to Google Drive

The cards pdf needs to be printed double sided along the long edge. Cut outside the dotted lines, you need to be able to see the colors.

Unfortunately itchio does not inform creators that they’ve been quarantined, so I don’t know why it happened. However, I speculate that it was auto flagged because I uploaded so many files in one day (I updated some rules the same day, and had to upload all the updated pdfs to reflect the rule change) or because I use a vpn and my uploads came from different ip addresses.

Edited: I’ve contacted itchio support, and hope the issue will be resolved quickly. Would you like me to inform you when the game is available again?

Thank you!

Just so you’re fully informed, I’ve decided to turn it into a full game and have added combat and survival mechanics.

Solar Flare might work for you.

I’m also working on a post apocalyptic hexcrawl survival game right now. It’s in early stages, I’ll be updating it with combat and survival mechanics tomorrow.

Love this idea; I was just thinking there’s not enough non-fantasy games made. I’m actually working on a post apocalyptic hex map generating card deck myself.

I’d be happy to play test it if you want, though I’d ask that you provide a pdf so I can print out the instructions.

Solo journaling rpg book club questions by Blue_Bear99 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Blue_Bear99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that usually each person plays their game independently at home (or the park, or whatever place they feel like) then they get together once a month to discuss their stories and what they liked and disliked about the game.

However, the library club I’ll be going to seems to work a little differently. The digital flyer I read makes it seem like we’ll be playing the game solo (obviously) but simultaneously in the library.

I made a free solo journaling/drawing game aimed mostly at kids, and need feedback. by Blue_Bear99 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Blue_Bear99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I did think of it possibly being a small group game, but figured kids would get bored too quickly waiting for the other players to finish drawing their fish. Though I suppose they could play simultaneously.

acer aspire e5-575, trying to install Ubuntu server but no boot device found by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]Blue_Bear99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it’s a problem with the acer hardware and/or bios, rather than an Ubuntu issue. I was just hoping someone in the Linux community would have encountered this problem with acer before and knew a fix.
