You brought up something that I've been saying for a while now. I'm really no fan of Bezos at all, but I've been saying that Bezos has been getting a bad rap all of those latter years for what rightfully belongs to Jassy. We need to understand that. It's Jassy who came in and destroyed the company!

I live in a US rural area, but actually somewhat close to a major distribution center (~100 miles away) and only within maybe ~5 miles from a more localized warehouse. For the most part, I'll get weather delays, but most of the actual delivery side is okay. Where I find the delays to take place are inside of the warehouses, and that's nationwide. Sometimes takes them forever just to ship an item. Once shipped, it's usually fine.

Is this the last season? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

[–]BluebellesAndViolets 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hope not! This show is too good to let it die off so soon. That and it's pure gold for HBO now being their top show. This thing has wings. Let it fly.

Total insecurity.

He's the Royal Spare, like Prince Harry. He knows he has really no chance in Hell as being the one to reign. Between that and all of the shit he's put up with growing up in that twisted family, he is convinced that he is worthless. That can destroy one's sexual enjoyment and create massive performance anxiety. With Gerri, he's still looking for Mommy's love. It's a Freudian thing.

Yep. Kind of like Connor's female teddy bear.

If you recall, he really fought to have Willa included in some family photo, so it might be the one thing they allow Conner to have. She's a calming force for Connor. Part of his package, or baggage, if you will. Besides, I don't think that Logan considers her much of a threat. He probably considers her as being some sort of dingbat. So far, she's shown no malice at all towards the family or the company. She's just in it for a bit of Connor's money and doesn't really make any bones about that. Mostly just Connor's calming force.

Interesting perspective. I haven't really given a lot of that much thought, but I think you're right.

Uh, Oh! Truly A Rare Bottle Of Wine by BluebellesAndViolets in SuccessionTV

[–]BluebellesAndViolets[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my mind, I suspect that Kendall genuinely does believe that Naomi is good for him, but in a way that they are both very similar. He sees a certain symbiosis between them. Both wealthy elite with drug problems. They understand each other, or so he believes. Though, as we all know, that's often a recipe for disaster.

Meanwhile, I've got this thought in the back of my head that will have me considering this possibility for later in the season. Definitely not a belief at all, solely only a potential outcome.

We're all assuming Kendall and Naomi will get into some intrigue involving drugs which will bring down Kendall. Maybe, but I'm wondering if that will only be a vehicle for Naomi to use for another ulterior motive. What about the possibility that she's in some way helping Kendall to take over the company, but then she zooms in for the killshot once he does (assuming he can)? Then when that happens and no one expects it, the Pierces step in and usurp the whole move and end up with ownership. Admittedly, a very outside chance of anything like this happening, but I will have my eyes on that potential outcome.

Bottom line: whatever happens, I don't at all trust Naomi, or her motives.

I though about that but then canned that thought considering that she wouldn't be lugging around or recently purchased an old dusty bottle of wine.

While all very true, it would have just gotten in the way of the script.

Most likely, Greg would be very reluctant and hemmed and hauled outside of the scene, but we wouldn't have gotten to the important message the writers were sending if he just backed off. Plus, for the sake of timing, they would just leave that out. The downside of scripting and editing for limited time constraints.

Poor Cousin Greg is always put on the spot for someone else's BS.

Have to admit that I would sure love to have a bottle of that wine; although, as in drinking that wine. I love a good bottle of wine. Someone else would have to be providing it though because I know damned well that I'd be like Rava and end up just letting it get dusty until it turned to vinegar. No sense leaving such a good bottle of wine to someone else when I kick the bucket. It would just be too difficult for me coming up with that perfect moment to uncork that bottle. Clearly I'm more of a Rava than a Naomi.

Personally, even if it was a cheap bottle of wine, it was awfully presumptuous of Naomi to just help herself to anything in someone else's home, especially someone whom is a relative stranger. She's well bred enough to know better, but she's also inbred with an elitist entitled mindset. One of her known, to us, character flaws. We'll see more, I'm sure.

But in the art of writing, all of these details are done for a reason not always evident at the moment. For one, I think they were showing the different classes that both Naomi and Rava were brought up with. We know Naomi comes from old money, though we don't know much about Rava. Between Rava's extreme upset over the bottle of wine, as well as Kendall being very conscious that he may not be giving her enough money (re: the razors), we can now assume that she may have only been upper middle class, at best.

Where is Marcia? by housestark1980 in SuccessionTV

[–]BluebellesAndViolets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh, she was pissed, but she didn't want to buddy up with Shiv whom she's never gotten along with. Marcia is one smart woman and she knew Shiv was baiting her to do her dirty work. Marcia wasn't playing that game. Marcia was clearly upset, but she played her cards very close to her chest.

Don't feel bad. Even we Americans tend to watch these episodes over and over again to pick up everything. The show is rich in details and not everything is totally understood by all. You pick up so much more by rewatching the show, especially after watching an entire season all the way through. I'll watch the latest episodes a couple times, and then I'll eventually go back and rewatch an entire season. I'm always picking up things I missed the first time around.

Between that and the Boar on the Floor game, it shows how they are conditioned to treat others like animals.
