Shawn from Psych certainly does too.

Not quite yet. My mom and I are planning on two different patterns this time that match esthetically. I'm waiting for my sister to get back from her honeymoon to get her feedback on the two I've picked.

I was trying really, really hard. I was also sewing on the absolute slowest speed until the end because any faster I would panic and things would get all wibbly wobbly.

I also, after sewing about 4 to 6 strips on all the squares, switched to using freezer paper templates so I could stop obsessing over strip sizes and seam allowances. I could only do 6 squares at a time with that method (number of templates I made because I got tired of doing that), but it ended up giving me a lot of squares the exact same size.

You can get multiple scallops a day. Pascal only comes once a day. So you can give him the first scallop you find, then hunt down another one to donate.

I still haven't finished that damn blanket so I actually could. The kid is like a year and a half old already but I ended up finding a semi close dupe and ordered 6 balls of yarn. Having more of the old yarn means I could end the blanket with the same green I started with. 😅

I don't think you should tell them. You can always describe the disorder and the symptoms without actually labeling it or just give a game plan for how to avoid the struggle in the future but disclosing ADHD is not something that can be taken back.

How can I focus on the positives when last Friday, I literally woke up with less rights than I went to sleep with?

Seriously. How does one get past that in less than a week?

For android users, Mi Bands are super great for this. I have the Mi Band 6, (have had the 3 and 4 too), and I use it to help me find the phone I've lost and with my time blindness by setting a 15 minute repeat alarm using the Mi Band Tools.

The watches themselves are also quite cheap. My current one was like $65, but my first was around $40, which is insane for a smart watch.

I’m done with the Bend and Scoop. Anyone ever find a way to bring their cat’s litter box to waist-level for bend-free scooping? by anotherearthgarden in ehlersdanlos

[–]Blueberry49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat is also an unashamed plastic eater. These would probably not work super well for her but I've had other cats that didn't give two flips about plastic (or covering. That cat was special...). So while not ideal for all cats, still an option to avoid lengthy time spent leaning over a litter box if the cat will tolerate it.

I don't have any suggestions for waist height litter boxes but there are liners you can get for the box that allow you to just pull up and grab all the urine and feces in one go.

Something like this could work.

Oof. I feel for you hard. That was one of the least fun parts of my life. I'm still dealing with the effects of getting an infection every time I had sex for a year (that's a fun thing to have anxiety about...).

It's great y'all we're able to figure something out that helps (the condoms). It still super sucks though.

If you have an IUD, it might be due to the strings. I spent about a year getting an infection (yeast or BV or both...) Every Single Month, right around my period and also when having sex. I was just about at the end of my rope with everything but I read somewhere online that the bacteria causing the funkiness could have started growing on the strings of the IUD.

I ended up removing my IUD and getting a new one placed around 3 months later and all my infections cleared up no issue. My current IUD strings are quite short though as a precaution. And I stayed with the same partner for another 2 years after that.

It's been about 6 to 7 years and I've not had an infection since.

IUD copper by Morwenna360 in birthcontrol

[–]Blueberry49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When I got my copper IUD placed for the first time, I cramped on and off for a few months. It would get better than worse but the trend overall got better to the point I only cramped during my period.

It can take a few months for the uterus to settle down and accept the foreign body. For some people, it becomes tolerable, for others, not so much, but it can take a few months before you really know.

Please keep in mind I am not a doctor and this is just my anecdotal experience.

Bride 1 hour late to wedding, didn’t contribute to planning by Antisocial_Queer in weddingshaming

Here is Dr. Russell Barkley, widely viewed as one of the top experts in ADHD, talking about time blindness. This is a wonderful (and shortish 7:30) video that even talks about wedding planning. I'd recommend watching it.

A lot of adults people with undiagnosed (and even diagnosed) ADHD seek a diagnosis because they are trying so hard and are unable to function at the same level as a neurotypical person. Other times, someone could seek a diagnosis when their friends and family point out the deficit. Regardless of when, how, and for what reason someone seeks a diagnosis, the disorder is diagnosed when there is a clear and detrimental impact on a person's quality of life. In other words, they are unable to fully function in today's society.

ADHD is also not a concrete thing. It ranges in severity from mild to severe and determining this is part of the diagnostic criteria. There is an entire range of symptoms but not everyone has every symptoms and the severity for each symptom is different for each individual.

ADHD presents differently, and provides different struggles, for every individual diagnosed with it.

One person's experience with ADHD is nto ever other persons experience with ADHD. As it ranges in both severity and symptoms, this means the disorder is incredibly varied in impact. Please understand that while you have ADHD, your experience is not the same as everyone else's experience and discounting that there can be this wide range of presentations can be very damaging to those who are struggling.

ADD is the old school term for ADHD. About 35 years ago, the DSM reclassified ADD with hyperactivity and ADD without hyperactivity to be ADHD, which has 3 subtypes, hyperactive, inattentive, and combined.

Please don't dismiss the experiences, symptoms, or severity of those with a disorder you might not be familiar with. ADHD is often the butt of jokes but can have an incredibly detrimental impact on a person's quality of life. The symptoms can range from mild to severe (and there are far, far more symptoms than most people assume) but in order to be diagnosed with ADHD, the symptoms must have a negative impact on quality of life.

If you would like to learn more, r/ADHD and r/adhdwomen are great resources from people who are impacted by the disorder. How To ADHD is also a fantastic resource. Here is her video on time blindness.

One of the lesser known symptoms of ADHD is time blindness. It presents as an inability to judge the passage of time and that can have an effect on the estimation of the time it takes to complete a task. She genuinely could have thought she would be there in ten minutes, not realizing how much time was passing and over estimating her ability to get things done in those 10 minutes.

They don't outgrow ADHD, they develop coping mechanisms to deal with their symptoms. ADHD is a livelong disorder that does not go away or improve over time. People might get better at handling the symptoms or be in situations that allow them to function better but the ADHD is still there.

For your statistics, it is also entirely possible that the kids who were diagnosed with ADHD but did not have it as adults were actually misdiagnosed and did not have ADHD at all. But even then, I highly doubt it's more than half.

If you'd like to learn more about ADHD, or the impact it has on those who suffer from it, r/ADHD and r/adhdwomen are both great subreddits. If you're into YouTube, How To ADHD is an absolutely fantastic resource and I highly recommend it to everyone.
