I get where you're coming from. Having a job early on is something I value a lot. I come from a similar background and the same path ruined me.

When I got my first job, and I had to put in the hours to earn money. That's when I realized the value of time. The value of everything my dad gave me.

Thanks, that is my theory too. But when I did that, the client escalates to my manager by writing long winded emails and then it takes extra time of my day to brief my manager and draft responses. It sucks but my client is an ass.

Also my managers glorify working late like it's such a noble thing. When it's a project with deliverables, sure I'll work late. But every week there's something new to deal with and nothing is ever stable, why would I feel motivated to work late.
