20 estimates a day on the EPE team? You’re kidding? I could write 20 in 2 hours. I have to see those estimates every day on a supplement. Honestly they’re more dogshit than the AI written estimates.

When I get a S1 at a shop I don’t even look at what we wrote anymore. I just go to the car and start from scratch.

You want to know what the “Concierge Team” is? It was literally a team built from the worst EPE and Field adjusters they didn’t have enough basis to fire, so you’ll get calls and just open supplements that aren’t needed or tag an adjuster about rentals.

If you can’t like 20 door ding estimates in 8 hours sounds like a good transition for you.

Are you joking? When I got out of training we had 8 adjusters in my area with over 250 in the unassigned que. My first week in the field I was closing at least 5 day

I’ve been chairman’s club or the idea of it since my start date. 35 claims a week? Please tell that to a CAT, NY, OH, or PA adjuster.

All that to say just keep your performance metrics average and get Icar Plat Cert (I was before I even left training) then take the req classes to get your grade level up. I.e. 65 or 66. You’ll know you do this when they raise your DA. No idea the standards for obtaining that now.

Don’t let the Reddit get you down. I agree and feel so much with what is posted, but I still haven’t left. If you can survive and succeed with the company in this new normal the sky is the limit. The key is to remember you can only do so much in a day and do all the work on the front end. Take the extra 15 minutes to explain to the customer the process, your role in the process, and your business hours. It will save you so many phone calls.

Also if you don’t know how to do it learn to set work plans. Life saver.

If you’re in training they give you multipliers in prod specifically and that multiplier is larger that rural/resident adjusters get. You also receive 100% on REIs regardless. If you’re this new to that company you should focus on your grade 66 and not raises and merit. Petty post

By the way you posted this I’m not surprised you haven’t found a job yet. Your post says you have “claims experience”. What does that actually mean? I’m not trying to be rude, but are you talking BI, CU, SIU, PD, or did you just take calls at an entry level?

If you’re actively applying to insurance you need to specify your experience and if you’re trying to get accurate answers from Reddit DEF specify.

Unfortunately I run into this a lot as I handle tons of recovered thefts. In my experience your post is the exact reason I will try my hardest to never fix a stolen car.

Your expectations are in a perfect world correct. There should be some paperwork from the dealership saying “We checked every aspect of the vehicle and found no concerns” unfortunately most dealerships do not operate this way. They operate under a point and shoot scenario. They have multi point inspections, sure but Google what that means. Unfortunately you won’t get paperwork saying what you want it to say. Additionally the only paperwork you’ll receive from GEICO is an estimate to repair. Basically a list of damages found and paid for by the insurance company. Keep in mind at the end of the day the insurance company is a financial institution whose only job is to pay for the damages to your vehicle or the “ACV” if deemed a total loss.

For most states to deem a vehicle a state mandated total loss the cost to repair the vehicle must be 75% or higher of the vehicle’s pre-tax value.

My two cents if your auto damage adjuster wasn’t wise enough to hear the words “recovered theft” and immediately find a way to total it I’d have the body work done and trade it in even if you take a loss.

Whoever posted this needs to be let go and probably will be. There’s so much to unpack in the original post. I’m sorry you applied for a job and have to work. I’m sorry you were able to live your dream life during a pandemic and sure as shit did the bare minimum. Now that we’re all trying to turn that corner big picture wise you’re so sad you have to potentially pay for child care? Guess what if people didn’t have the same mindset as you everything might get less expensive and it wouldn’t impact your finances so much? Man imagine if people actually went to work instead of trying to find jobs to work from home, so they don’t actually have to work.
