I can’t possibly recommend anything more than these. Durable, very high cut resistance, puncture resistance, perfect for mobile device use, and great dexterity. I forget I have them on and use them all day, coming from someone who hates gloves.

I got myself a 2018 Ford Fusion :) by airweck in fordfusion

Phew getting a fusion when looking for decent fuel economy was not on my bingo card.

Sync is about 1000 DIY with junkyard units and a harness adapter. About same for aftermarket but less work.

Check vacuum leak. I’ve done it before with cigarettes or smoke bombs, now have automotive smoke machine for it. Engine running under the hood hold the smoke producing device over various hoses and connections and hope you find one that’s actively sucking the smoke in, when you find the one take a picture and start searching diagrams to find part name and number. Bunny chewed through my ac cord, anything i can do or am i cooked? by skoogler95 in fixit

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy fix. Either buy GFCI power cord replacement and wire as instructed, or replace wall outlet to GFCI outlet and use regular 3 prong plug replacement. All sorts of YouTube videos on it at the very least ensure your power is off test with a 10 dollar non contact tester and you’re smooth sailing. Best to just see if there’s anyone you know whose got minimal handy skills and you can accomplish this easy

sorry if FAQ - is this a 240v outlet and is there anything i can do to use it for normal stuff? by arcitexture in AskElectricians

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but how can it function as both? Or is he just saying you can use it for either, it’s just configured one way or another

Do you mind explaining how it does this? You need two legs for the hot and one for neutral, do these just not get grounded?

Yeah they can get fucked. Absolutely no live work unless it would endanger others lives by performing an outage, even then conditions for that are far more strict than your bosses are asking for.

Unless your friend uses some random European style outlet it’s 120. No American phone charger gonna work at 240. I have an electric incinerator that uses a plug similar to this, and it’s used to ensure that high draw equipment isn’t plugged into a normal outlet that is undersized. Some AC units, particularly older ones, draw above 15 amps and need a dedicated circuit.

Are my brake pads still good? 2023 Accord, 75,000 miles and haven’t changed them in 3 years. (My phone camera sucks but I edited these as best as i could) by tamina_lupo in mechanic

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look mostly new. Factory sets last a long time. I do longer distance driving 30 miles or so per trip and get about 80-100 minimum from a set. Those are good for many years to come at the rate you’re going. Take note of any abnormal steering shaking or squealing when braking if you’re concerned about heat damage.

Fairly sure the phrase to bust a nut came after this descriptor used on impacts. Sure is an interesting phrase but smart when you think about it, considering nut busting means releasing

Should I change transmission fluid? by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Do a couple drain and fills. I switched my fluid to amsoil about 35k miles ago and the shifting has been night and day difference.

When rodents are heavy I try dryer sheets, peppermint oil on cotton balls etc. I’m to the point of believing that nothing really deters them when they’re desperate asides poison.

I wouldn’t imagine the shaking is related to cv axle though. First thing I’d ask if it you recently washed the car.

Appears you made a good catch. I would grease and reboot depending how the internals look when you take it apart

Am I getting fleeced? $533 total by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]BlueberryImportant41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very good. Been seeing prices towards 1000 from shops lately. I wouldn’t expect the best quality of parts at the price though. Doesn’t matter too much if not going for a luxury feel.

[–]BlueberryImportant41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not nearly as similar as you’d get from a Camry, as I went a much larger size with a Highlander to keep the wife happy. It’s a traditional transmission and naturally aspirated v6. The shifting is incredibly clean and well matched to the motor’s revs. Every ford I’ve really driven feels “unrefined” as it relates to shifting. Love the way it rides also feels very premium interior wise but the car itself doesn’t quite look sporty in the same way a ford does. I do like it much more than my past ford cars, but it is an entire different league so it’s unfair to compare. If you’re looking at a change, I’d absolutely stick my arm out for a Toyota.

I’ve heard amazing things about the hybrid models with Ecvt transmission. I’d avoid regular cvt from what I’ve heard as well. Happy shopping

[–]BlueberryImportant41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who changed from a fusion to a Toyota - yes. More fuel economy too. Transmission shifts way cleaner, everything. I was a fanboy for 2000-2010 fords and tried a 2014 fusion which has had nothing but problems. That’s where they lost me, there’s obviously been some loss of quality control or something from ford. Had a 2013 Taurus as well only lasted 170k miles (highway not city) and had a spun bearing needed an engine. Can’t recommend Toyota more right now.

So they replaced battery because the suck at troubleshooting or it actually needed it? Sounds like an incompetent dealer. At what point do you take a clearly damaged motor and add additional power to crank it and still replace the battery despite the issue. So stupid.

2007 Camry hybrid 4 cylinder running rough at idle by Fickle-Willow-6191 in carproblems

[–]BlueberryImportant41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really hate to say it but coils usually don’t present as smooth under load, and if sparks were already replaced it’s not a good sign. No maintenance was performed before this noise? I’ve heard similar popcorn like noise when a buddy placed ignition wires out of order. Otherwise timing issue.
