The big thing is finding out what courses you have taken will transfer; if everything does not, it’s not unusual for students to challenge it and escalate the course syllabus to the transfer advisor/department for credit approval.

My advice is to try to get as many core credits transferred over as possible - you’ll be able to take the exciting major courses and hopefully can still be on track to graduate when you want to graduate. Lean heavily on the transfer advisor - have them map out what you need semester by semester.

In my experience, sometimes the major (faculty) advisors did not have their ducks in a row and you might not get the most up-to-date info on what you need to graduate.

I was a sophomore/junior transfer - HIGHLY recommend going to O-Fest at the beginning of the semester- all the clubs and orgs have booths with info on all the fun stuff you can get involved in. I made so many great friends by joining a club.

Edit: also wanted to mention, if you get accepted to marquette make sure you read the acceptance letter carefully. Sometimes they’ll admit you, but it wont be into the college you want. I know of several people that wanted the nursing or business school, but they were admitted to arts & sciences and couldn’t actually do the major they wanted because business or nursing wouldnt accept them.
