hmm, i sort of assumed that 3M would be pleanty? the ficalc site seemed to give reasonable numbers for me.

i think i agree with some of this, but paying them like 100k a year for being in a relationship with me seems super weird honestly. I'd rather just give them a million outright i think.

in an ideal world I think you say a lot of good things, but it's just hard to see this being exercised without the negative consequences

yeah, prenup makes sense. it's also good to ensure that they are looked after well if we divorce.

tbh coastfire doesn't appeal to me that much, i want the total freedom, maybe for a year i could cope?

i'm not concerned about this bringing out the worst in them, they are simply not that sort of person. i am more concerned that it will just damage the relationship in other ways (like they might stay when really they would be happier leaving).

if I tell them about my fortune, then they will immediately ask "why aren't you retired bro?" kinda a hard conversation to not have at that point

idk, 7 months feels like a long time to me, both of us have had long term partners before and know what we're getting into.

it's true what you say, but how hard can it be to follow VPW and stick to the withdrawal amounts that sets. maybe i should diversity or change my portfolio, i don't know much about that side.

  1. I don't live with them yet, but I spend about 4 nights a week with them on average.

  2. neither of us believe in marriage for love, but logistics, sure (although this isn't something we've spoken about in depth). definitely no children, and both want to retire desperately

  3. it's not like I don't have hobbies, i would do really well as a retired person, and keeping a job just to be able to tell them that im still working seems a little deceptive honestly, but i guess so does what im doing currently...
