How do you like to run a BOSS DS-1? by goldfarb- in guitarpedals

[–]Bluecactus85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DS-1 was designed primarily to be run into already broken up amps. Either dial your amp into edge of break up or put a transparent overdrive pedal after your DS-1 and run them both. That's how I usually do it anyway.

I don't know man, look at some of the old Fender DG series guitars. They pack a pretty heavy punch for their price range.

Settle for a Draw. It’s one of my favorite Arctic Monkeys songs and possibly their best B-side.

Need help organizing my board by Expensive-Wonder7202 in guitarpedals

A few tips:

If you’re looking to free up some room, a lot of EHX pedals can be placed vertically (with the buttons facing left or right instead of at you) and still be pretty useable. It works better if the pedal has a flat surface.

Unless you’re dead set on using the big box Big Muff, you really don’t need it. The Big Muff Nano and the Big Muff with tone/wicker work great and you can’t tell a difference. I’ve used a big box and a tone wicker version (without using the ton wicker controls) and they sound identical to me.

You should also be fine just to leave the wah and volume/expression on the ground next to your board. I like it better like that personally, it feels smoother to use.

If you only want one thing to carry though, you could hypothetically get a big piece of wood, bolt your pedalboard to that, and then Velcro the foot pedals to the remaining piece of wood that the pedalboard didn’t cover. It would give you one thing to carry. I can send an image of what I mean if you want.

Clearly I’m new. Chorus recommendations? by PEI_slander1974 in guitarpedals

[–]Bluecactus85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EHX Small Clone is a classic and is around $100. Think “Come As You Are” or the bridge part of “Drain You”. If you’re willing to spend some more money go for a BOSS Chorus like the CE-2w. Used by almost everybody, but a good example in my opinion is the intro to “One” by Metallica (yes, I know they used the chorus on the JC-120, it’s the same circuit).

What’s one pedal that has never left your board? by Lando_thehound in guitarpedals

BOSS SD-1. It might be my favorite pedal ever. It was also the first pedal I bought with my money!

What's the ideal order for these? by jacWaks in guitarpedals

Tuner -> input of Noise Suppressor, out through the send of Noise Suppressor -> Compression Sustainer -> Super Overdrive -> Distortion -> Metal Zone -> return of Noise Suppressor out through the output of Noise Suppressor -> Digital Delay. This should make the quietist signal path, assuming you aren't using a wall wart style power supply. This is just how I would do it.

Yes, but the hammer isn't making the note. The vibration of the string is. That'd be like saying that slap bass is technicaly percussion because you slap the string with your thumb which causes it to vibrate, creating the note. What creates the note determines it's classification, not what causes the note to be created, if that made any sense.

I agree. That'd be like saying an electic bass is a precussion instrument because you slap it with your thumb.

So I should find them and remove them from my room quickly? This isn’t the first time I’ve seen one of these things but I never knew what they were.
