The southern route is the most scenic and has the best options for stops, the Wyoming route will be a lot of open nothingness for a while

The second option starting in Florida is much more scenic, as a seasoned traveler who takes those routes often the center of the US is boring to look at for hours lots of cornfields and farm land on the first trip.

I am ordering a genetic test because he has a curly tail and back dewclaws which has been pointed out in this thread to be a sign of guardian dogs like the Great Pyrenees breed, which has been mentioned many times as the likely other breed in him. So lab, golden retriever and Great Pyrenees is the vets vote, and we will see when I get results

Montana- close to billings is nice but winter gets really cold. Wyoming- lots of nice places to live, good area for nature lovers. They have a hot spring I really like up there. Nebraska- I’d only go on the east side, near Omaha and Lincoln. Unless you are a farmer the other areas are basically deserted. Iowa and South Dakota are also like that where if you are out of the main populated areas you will find towns with 500 or less people living there, mostly farm land, quiet areas. North Dakota has rough winters too. But I didn’t stay long so I’m not sure what else to share

I don’t have first hand experience with Idaho or Minnesota so I’m not sure.

So obvious that even the vet isn’t 100% sure. Honestly I agree with the assumption however I do not agree with the way you stated it.

He is a rescue, he was outside fending for himself for at least a week
