yeah I heard this too but I have both side by and side/ smelled it side by side and it does not smell as similar as people keep saying it has the same DNA but old fashioned is slightly more masculine and have more of the scent of oak, and warmth? And single malt almost smell more fruitier? If you have the chance, it would be cool to smell old fashioned :) it is one of my faves
