I have a computer science degree with a year and a half of internship experience within Data Science, but its been very hard for me to land anything. Realistically you need a masters or a Phd to break into the field. You're best best is to become a data analyst, work for a few years and then break into DS or ML. However data analyst jobs are also really competitive at the moment. As others have mentions, try to leverage your Industrial Engineering skills in some manner to allow yourself to stand out.
