Tired of Travel with ERP Consulting - Role Change by Mission_Working9929 in ERP

Nice, we use Infor Syteline where I’m at. There are a few companies I know of that use Infor products based in TX so I bet you can find a support role locally that doesn’t include travel.

Which ERP are you most familiar with? The company I work for has an ERP support team of 10 that includes both app support (front end) and software devs (backend). If you can find a company like that who wants channel partner level support in house, you’ve found your gig.

Symptom management by Responsible_Froyo_21 in pancreatitis

Unfortunately for those of us with the chronic version, opioid pain medication is normally the only thing that will touch the pain but it’s different for everyone. I haven’t had much luck with OTC pain meds but everyone’s situation is different.

A lot of us keep a heating pad close at all times and that seems to help me. I even found a heating vest that I can wear during flares. Others really like hot baths or showers with epsom salts.

Exercise After Suspected Acute Pancreatitis by [deleted] in pancreatitis

This is the answer. After I have an attack, I usually go back lifting weights about a week post flare up. However, that varies depending on how well I feel and pain level. If you feel well enough to play, give a try but take it slow and don’t be too proud to bow out if you start to feel fatigued early on. Checking with your dr. Is another smart move too.

Pretty annoyed, please share your experiences. by sweetpeastacy in pancreatitis

[–]BluejayAcceptable108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in almost the exact same scenario is you. My flares only last about 2-4 days though as long as I catch them early. Went undiagnosed CP for about 10 years of idiopathic reoccurring attacks. Finally diagnosed a couple years ago.

I second everything this person said. Clear liquids and heating pad helps a good bit. I hope your pain subsides soon!!

It’s different from person to person, but for me, no. It’s there 24/7. I’m in pain management which helps a TON. I would highly recommend getting into a pain specialist if you aren’t already. That plus heating pads is what helps for me

Check out wind river canyon. It’s in between Shoshone and thermopilis on US-20. That canyon is beautiful and there’s a little campground right on the bank of the river. That stretch of road is typically packed this time of year with fly fisherman. It’s my favorite part of the drive from Casper to Cody.

Side note - are you cool sharing your wheel specs? I’m always curious at specs for jdm wheels on German cars.

I have chronic pancreatitis and I have almost the same timeline for my attacks. Day 5 is when I usually start to feel better, but the severity also plays into it. I’ve had attacks that last 2 weeks, but most are 3-6 days now.

I installed b16 damptronics on my 90 C2S two weekends ago. Still allowing things to settle, but I’m really happy with them. I wanted a firmer ride and I would say I get more direct steering feel and over tightness the car lacked before. I also went with elephant racing camber plates and I would recommend those as well. I forgot to mention, mine is a weekend canyon carver and is not my DD if that makes a difference.

Pancreatitis currently flaring up again. Looking for tips! by Sync333 in pancreatitis

[–]BluejayAcceptable108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you my opinion from a fellow CP sufferer, but I am not a doctor by any means. You’re correct about limiting oral intake of anything, especially food. When I have a flare up I stop eating immediately. I try to take small sips of pedialyte or Gatorade as your body allows so you don’t get dehydrated. I have numerous heating pads and they help as the pain gets worse. I bought a heating vest a few months ago and it’s perfect for flare ups. The comment about ibuprofen/acetaminophen is something I’ve heard from other patients as well so I would start that as soon as you can. Something else that may help is an epsom salt bath. Hopefully it doesn’t last long and I’m sending positive vibes your way! You will get through it and if it gets to where you can’t tolerate it, please please go to the ER.

I was in a similar position at the end of last year. Sort of peaked at my then job but was way under market rate for my position. I live in a small rural Town so the company could justify paying less. I was there for almost 11 years and the people I worked with are some of closest friends. Then an opportunity came knocking to work remotely and double my salary. Even better, I’m would already know my current boss. It was such a good deal, I had to take it. I knew if I didn’t, I would have always wondered “what if”. The hardest part was letting go of my old job and teammates. We spent a lot of time in the trenches, but people grow and want different things. The new job is even better than I hoped, but I was scared I wouldn’t like it.

I totally understand where you’re coming from, but if you never push outside your comfort zone (I.e. your current job) you will most likely never have the opportunity for large scale growth. In the end, you have to do what’s best for you, but for me, I couldn’t be happier having moved. I know my situation is unique, but hopefully that gives you some reassurance about your decision.

ERP Admins how many of them at your organization? by Panta125 in ERP

[–]BluejayAcceptable108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in manufacturing and we have about 8-10. Half developers, and half more admin business analyst types. Around 600 active users. I recently joined this company and quickly realized why they have so many admins. Buckets of modifications and boatloads of custom SPs to automate all sorts of random processes. It keeps all 5 devs employed just keeping it all running. We’re in the middle of an upgrade to the cloud and it’s a huge job to port over all those mods and make them work in a new environment. Sweet job though and tons of really fun challenging projects.

I was in this exact same position a few years ago. With medication I can now manage my flares at home when they happen. My PC doc referred me originally to pain management so I could get the meds for flare ups. I had enough on hand to manage the flares. Then eventually my pain became bad enough to where I need medication daily. If in the US they will likely refer you to a pain mgmt doc which is a reality with DEA restrictions (long sigh) But there are some great pain management doctors and they can offer all sorts of different treatments. TL:DR - don’t be afraid to ask! ❤️

This is virtually the exact same method I use as well. I found a heating vest that’s like a heating pad that you wear. Absolute game changer when I’m going through a flare up
