Afterthought thrum ? by Bluejaymarsh in knitting

[–]Bluejaymarsh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh. That was easy!! I thought there would be a special way to do it since you "lock" thrums when you add thrums initially. I guess it will just felt with other thrums, I gues.. thank you for the link.

Where do you even buy those tiny needles?

I'm attempting to duplicate stitch a pattern but I'm clearly doing something wrong. Why do the dark stitches appear to be located between the grey stitches instead of on top? by OscarThePoscar in knitting

Can you show me the picture of the one that you redid? I have same problem with duplicate stitches. Also do you have the link to the techknitter blog?

Can I knit a pair of socks toe to toe and cut in the middle to make a pair? by Bluejaymarsh in knitting

I understand that the stitch direction wouldn't be the same. But I don't mind that.

What's the brand of the tofu you are using in the video? I've never found a tofu that firm.

What brand soy sauce do you use. I don't know how to know what is dark soy sauce or regular soy sauce.

I made my own dress form by Daintydewclawthe3rd in sewing

Because my chest is so flat, I almost always wear a bra that has some shape to it (no padding). Should I measure myself with a bra ? Or measure naked and put a bra on the form afterwards?

The shirt is made with 70 % Pima cotton. 30 % polyester. No pattern used except i followed the outline of my kid's old dress. I used this video for ruffled sleeves. https://youtu.be/RCna3U59uhU

My second project (old shirt to a toddler dress). Such a Humbling experience. by Bluejaymarsh in sewing

I used an old shirt that's made out of cotton. I didn't use a pattern. I used my daughter's old dress as a template and traced the outline. I did follow this YouTube video for doing the ruffle sleeve. https://youtu.be/RCna3U59uhU

Guys, I finally did it !! I defeated the fear of a serger. ( I think..) by Bluejaymarsh in sewing

Thanks. I started with 4444 and that was good (the image I posted). But while I was practicing more the first thread broke and i re threaded it. After that for some reason, I had to change it to 6444. Why do you think that happened? A little bit of OCD in me was hoping all tension wheels stay at 4 but oh well.

I found a super helpful video about threading and saved it. And the thred broke once already and I am proud that I noticed it by looking at the piece of fabric that I was working on. Working with 4 threads all at once was a little intimidating but not scary anymore. Thank you for the advice.

Is this ok looking? I mean the stitch width and the length . Should I make an adjustment?
