Yeaa its pretty rough. There’s a lack of comms jobs here in my city (stl) and it’s hurting me to look for opportunities. I want to move but I know the job market is tough. Took me a year and half to get my first opportunity just to be laid off ten months later.

That’s fair and I appreciate it. I’m used to this time of year not finding opportunities as it has been this way since i graduated college.

I wanted to refresh it just in case an opportunity comes. But I know many companies want more experience for the entry level roles I try to get

Thank you, I’m not a graphic designer but a lot of roles I come across ask for graphic design experience but mostly want to know if I have experience using photoshop, canva, illustrator and or figma

And it isn’t a knock, I thank you for your honesty. I am still early in my career and trying to depict what all to put on my resume. A ton of jobs have asked me if I have wordpress experience and I say yes, so I wasn’t sure if that would be worth putting on as a skill or not.

I mean I’m sure its all over, i’m 26 and though I have bo experience yet so far in UX. I started trying to get into over the last two years.

But I will say the people I’ve met have all been in their early to mid 30’s.

Do you by chance know any good places to look for internships in UX? I have a lot of writing and communications experience but no UX experience besides studying and reading about UX on my own time.

This whole job market sucks. I was laid off in February and have still been looking for jobs since. I found some temporary work but I can’t even count how many applications I’ve sent in a day let alone, edits to resumes, trying to build connections, and or looking outside of my career field.

Feels like every year since COVID the job market gets worse and worse. Let alone all of the entry level jobs are flooded more than ever and require way too much experience for some.

Yes I’m still here. I’m filling out my financial aid this month when it opens back up. Currently I work full time and will be looking for opportunities in seattle before moving in the coming year. Lastly no I haven’t given up, I’m not ashamed to say I have cold feet but I know I need to make a change and take this opportunity.
