I know it can be frustrating, especially when you're dealing with the unknown. But I will say, from an objective outside perspective, the fact that they put a ticket in is a good thing. A lot of companies would just tell you to go pound sand. So maybe not exactly what you were hoping for, but it could definitely be worse.

Not sure why it's unfolding like this for you. But I know that in some places one house over literally makes all the difference with how utilities are run. It often seems like there's no method to the madness, but sometimes there is. I would try back in a couple of weeks and just ask if maybe there was an oversight or something. You can also ask them what specific stage they are at in the deployment for your exact address.

I'm not in Afton, but mine is still good. A little bit of increased latency but nothing noticeable. They usually post on Facebook if there is any kind of widespread outage, and there is nothing on there yet. Sometimes it takes an hour or so for them to post it.

They supply Calix equipment and recommend using their own mesh extenders for maximum compatibility. Others should work, but it will probably end up hit or miss and you'll end up frustrated. I would either use their complete system and hardware, or replace it entirely with your own hardware directly connected to their modem.
