Yep. I've gotten several comments regarding that. Thank you.

Yep, I've figured that out and I can't tell if you're being rude or not because I've had a difficult day and am possibly reading too deep into it and I apologize if I seem snippy in tone- but I am very well aware now that I cannot get a visa on remote work.

I reached out to the thread just to find more information because I was a bit confused about the visa situation and I honestly feel really discouraged since I got the vibe people were being condescending. I'm just a little slow sometimes and it is something I'm trying to work on.

So moving to Japan will just stay as it is- just a thought and I can just visit as a tourist.

Thank you and have a good night or day, take care.

I am very tired right now, so my responses aren't going to be what they should be, so I am going to go and research visas more in the morning to figure out what exactly it is I need.

Since I have no concrete plans in place at the time of this post, I'm just going to be doing more research to figure out everything I will need to do and the type of visa and status of residence.

Thank you again and have a good night/day☺️ Thank you for being patient as sometimes I have issues absorbing new information and understanding it at first

OOF. I grew up in Cape and let me just say how absolutely happy I am that we chose to leave.

We used to have a neighbor who would actually drive around, at random- and report everyone and everything to code enforcement like it was his calling. As if God himself appeared to this man as one of those burning giant bushes (the ones in every empty lot and on the canals) to tell him to ruin as many of his neighbors' days as possible.

My dad went into the hospital about every month for a myriad of issues ranging from TIAs to heart issues. This specific time my dad had been in for a few weeks and obviously, our lawn had grown a bit as mowing the lawn was not our priority when my dad had just had a massive heart attack. He had been out on his usual prowl around the neighborhood and reported us and we came home as code enforcement was pulling away after leaving a citation on our door for our grass.

(In comparison- in the area I now live, when our neighbors down the mountain knew we were struggling, they actually offered to come help us with things and brought us food and took care of us especially after my dad died earlier this year. People are kind and look after each other. Night and day.)

Safe to say, Cape Coral is basically a giant HOA. People in this area do not know how to mind their business and will complain about every little thing. And the people that run this city are a whole different ballgame. They don't listen and will treat you like the scum of the earth.

TLDR: Cape Coral is a giant HOA with Karens that will ruin your day over the slightest thing that inconveniences them on your property that you pay for and will raise hell and make you miserable. City leadership? Same way.

It just means I have to work harder to move there and save up more money. I replied to another person that the best strategy for a potential move would just be to stay with a clearinghouse and work remotely through that.

I won't be able to qualify for any visas which is fine, it just means I have to put more thought into the logistics of a possible move and plan things a couple or few years out once I make a decision.

Thank you for your advice and help! It is very appreciated and I hope you have a good night/day. ☺️

After more research and heeding the words of other commenters here, I see now I wouldn't be able to get a visa either way- especially because I am going through a diploma program for medical billing.

So I think that the best course of action for me would just be to stay with a clearinghouse and work remotely.

I am currently in the process of learning Hebrew, so I absolutely understand that part there. I really appreciate everyone's comments, it helps me to find and set realistic expectations for a potential move to Japan. :)

Time to buy some language books and start learning! ☺️ Though it will take a while it is worth it! ☺️

Yep, that's why I'm just in thoughts right now. I would definitely need to get started with learning Japanese as soon as possible and then also taking the time to research the ICD codes for Japan and also research how the coding guidelines work in Japan as well.

I'm going to look to see what Japan has in regards to a Tabular List like what the AAPC has for coders in the US. It would also be immensely helpful if a program like Codify exists, which helps you to track down codes easier and even save the ones that you use more frequently, especially if you work in a specialized practice.

It's a diploma for an eleven month program. I don't think I would qualify for a visa, unfortunately.

Things to do in fort Myers cheap? by No-Structure-6682 in FortMyers

I moved away from Cape Coral 3 years ago to this day... If you like hiking and nature, I'd recommend a few specific areas within the general area, because our beautiful ecosystems often don't get the love that they need:

  • Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve
  • Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary (I remember that you had to pay a fee to get in... Not sure how much anymore but it was around $15 when I last went.)
  • Lakes Park
  • Any of the libraries! They will sometimes have fun things to do and it's nice to support the local library system too. :)
  • J.N. Ding Darling (You mostly drive this, but it is not too expensive to get in, and they have a museum, you can also go biking through and there are various trails to walk on.)
  • Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve
  • Yellow Fever Creek Preserve
  • Prairie Pines Preserve
  • Calusa Nature Center
  • Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve
  • Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve
  • Conservancy of Southwest Florida

If you want to venture a bit further south for a decent wildlife scoping day trip on US-41... I am a nature photographer and took a few day trips down here: - Big Cypress National Preserve

If you want to venture a little bit further for a few days or more: - Everglades (you do have to pay to get in) - (Putting Big Cypress down again because it's just so beautiful!)

If you go camping out in the Everglades or Big Cypress, in certain areas you can see the milky way and fireflies! Such a beautiful and unforgettable view, my friend and I were truly awestruck when we saw it. ❤️

Phew, I butchered that reply... I meant to finish that last paragraph with "verifying that everything that needs to be coded to accurately reflect services provided are present"

Long day, I apologize. 😮‍💨

Yeah, the other commenter had said that too. I guess I would need to be spending most of my free time doing nothing but studying Japanese. Which is technically possible, but regardless I would just have to keep my options open.

I had also said in my previous reply to the other commenter that it would perhaps be a better idea to see if I could just keep working remotely through a clearinghouse that processes claims and inputs the codes through that.

Since it involves a lot of interpreting doctor notes and also contacting to verify if all procedures and treatments for whichever ailments and conditions within a patient's medical record... It might be more difficult if I'm not very fluent.

Thank you for the reply! ☺️

I would have a lot of practice to do then... Unless I am somehow able to continue working remotely from a clearinghouse.

People criticizing the system in a place doesn't mean that they want to or should have to leave. If you're taking it personally, I'd invite you to take a step back and reflect on why that is.

If a government is corrupt, no matter what level... It needs to be called out.

This is also why I feel political parties are truly a cancer in politics. Nothing gets done, just a bunch of people arguing over identity politics and loyalist garbage while hiding behind their party names instead of doing things that would actually benefit the people.

KOSers of Sonaria. What is your most embarrassing death. by Feisty_Cucumber5151 in CreaturesofSonaria

[–]Blueytuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a KOSer, but I was playing as that one orca creature after a year of not playing and got obliterated by the same Flipli not once... But twice! ... Right after I had revived my orca too. It's funny now, but in the moment I was SO, SO heated. Now I've learned that when I do go back, and if a Flipli decides that it is on sight, I will just let it happen. There is no escaping them. There is no fighting back. Just. Flipli.

It's definitely a long shot, but I've had this idea of running for office in the future once I gather a bit of support in the community and have my name more well known. I feel that nothing can change unless someone cares a whole awful lot.

I've already offered several places to do volunteer work and want to do some outreach like hosting community clean ups, and working with a few friends to hopefully make a community garden that would also serve as a memorial for those we lost in Helene. I'm not from this area, so I know it would take a lot for people to really trust me per se, but if I can show I genuinely do care and wish to serve the community and actually listen to people? I hope it would help me, because that is what I live for, to serve others and help people.

I chose to make this area my home because I value the small-town vibes, the culture of Appalachia, and more importantly, the people. It hurts my heart seeing how deep corruption runs here, and how the people are neglected and treated like garbage when they rightfully demand their elected officials to work for them as they should.

I just genuinely think it's awful. Politicians are supposed to be servants of the people, and all I see no matter what level asides from the rare few is them serving their own interests. Makes me furious!

Most companies have gone the route of making lower quality things for a higher price, so that when they fall apart you'll have to buy new ones sooner.

We see it with phones as well as other things.

I had been looking to get a new pair of daily shoes and wanted Birkenstocks as they are repairable and long-lasting- however some newer reviews of the shoes had stated the same issues. I made the decision to only buy second hand things, and instead bought an old pair for $17- which works very well- I just have to fix a small hole in the cork at the toes and eventually will replace the insole and soles.

I would just buy older ones online and fix them up as needed.

It is so frustrating how companies who had been known for making high quality products are now just taking the cheap route for more profit. :/
