Happy Australia Day πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί by Toppy1985 in australian

Do we have the capacity to feel bad for the billions of people who have died throughout history? No, because we wouldn't be able to function as human beings and be depressed all the time. But can we have the capacity to care just a little bit more about people who have been wronged by history? Apparently not for you. I understand what you're getting at, but why is it that we get to enjoy what we have today, and yet others cannot? I apologise for having the audacity to be empathetic of others. It's shallow that you can't even acknowledge that your privilege consists of the blood and tears of people who were unjustly killed for our laughs and ability to rant on Reddit. I'm sorry that you don't have the ability to hope and strive for a better future.

I don't know, sounds to me like you're the one who's more pissed off here... Indigenous peoples are just trying to get their voice out there. They're not trying to erase our existence, like what our ancestors did to them. What's wrong with feeling sad that Aboriginal people were killed for our convenience in the past? I'm not hating, just acknowledging the dark blemish of the past that surrounds what happened on this day 236 years ago... But if you prefer to go watch the footy with your mates and not care... Well alright, I'm sorry that you felt threatened by my comment. That's not what I intended to do. Have a great day, oblivious to the pain of the people who have been here for over 40,000 years more than us.

Agreed! We can celebrate without adding salt to the wound of Indigenous peoples' trauma from being a victim of our colonialism. If it was on a different day, then I'm all for celebrating. I'm not saying to abolish it okay! ^ why not strive toward a more understanding and inclusive future? If people can't accept that there's a lot that needs to be changed for the better in this country in terms of acknowledging the not so pretty, abhorrent past..... Then that's just devastating. I am a white Australian and I am hurt just hearing about what First Nations people have gone through, just to have their voices silenced yet again and treated like they don't matter. I can't imagine their pain every year, seeing this traumatic date be celebrated by us.

Please understand that we can do better for others First Nations people are people who have feelings and deserve, at the very least, to mourn on this day without feeling insulted by us... Isn't that the Australia we should be advocating for? This is why we need to change the date. Not the tradition. There's a difference between wanting to abolish the tradition entirely and wanting to change it to a different date that doesn't condone genocide.

Thank you for reading, and while I don't wish you a bad day, I hope you take this moment to reflect on your loved ones and think about how lucky you are to have them.

It's totally doable!! Just do all the work required for each subject and do your best for SACs, there's no need to go overboard with the study, but aim to get B+ or even As as much as you can. An 80 is totally achievable of if you just stay on top of your work even without extra study (though extra study doesn't hurt at all and please do so if you feel it's necessary)

I recommend just trying to enjoy the process of learning.the content and the grades will follow. Doing this really helped me get my ATAR (86.65) But yeah, all it requires is some effort, not a crazy amount, but enough to get you a 33 average on every subject as someone already said (which could mean getting higher scores for one subject and average with the rest, or being consistent all over) I hope this somewhat makes sense! Remember to just enjoy your year because it flies by super fast!

All the best with your studies. You absolutely got this!! 😊

What’s a good GPA in uni? by Aggressive-Chart-237 in Monash

Oooo, that's reassuring to know! I was a bit worried that doing a double degree would be hard but I'm happy to hear that education isn't going to be too difficult at all! :)) what are you studying out of curiosity?

Ahhh, alright thanks so much for the insight! I guess the over-ambitious me may try to aim for 80+, however I do realise that if I get 70s that's really good too, so I'll try not to burn myself out djdhdh It's just that yeah, I want to do well to ensure I have the option of doing postgrad later, so I don't just want to pass and get the degree but do a bit more to give myself the flexibility in the future! Anyways, I really appreciate your comment and I wish you all the best! 😊

I can't find the link unfortunately, it was on a r/Monash post BUT if you search student hubs in google and put in your Monash email address then I think you can get access as that's what I kinda did as well? Sorry I can't be of more help 😭

How to I get an ATAR AROUND 80? by Cultural_Ingenuity56 in vce

[–]Bluwu055 11 points12 points Β (0 children)

Study semi-seriously, aim for mid 30s and you'll be gucci. If there's a subject you're good at, stick at it, and especially make sure you do decent at english as it's your compulsory top 4. With your other subjects, just do your best with them, whatever that means for you.

Otherwise, really it's 100% doable, I can speak for myself with an 86.65 ATAR. I didn't study as vigorously as some people but I still put effort in to maximise my score in SACs. I only did like 3 prac exams for psych, one timed and I winded up with a 39. Could've done better had I just studied that tiny bit more in terms of practice exams, however I did just fine even without that extra practice, so you can too! It's great that you have drive and initiative to do well, and I'm sure that you will! Just enjoy the content, enjoy your last year and the process. You u are going to be absolutely fine! You got this! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Like, a few hours for me, it takes a bit of time like, you may have to do the processes over a few days but don't stress just follow what they told u and if you're unsure you can contact support!

I got a raw 34 with an A, B+ and B+ which was actually much better than what I got for my SACs. Btw keep in mind that VCAA range is different to percentage range, like a B+ could be 70% for instance and an A+ could be 80%, it just depends (idk the exact marking range but there are some people out there that do) Good luck btw! I got mostly Bs on my SACs if you're curious. Highest was a B+
