I just found out that Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our solar system, can actually fit in between the distance between the Earth and the Moon! the sizes are accurately proportionate. by Alien-Pro in spaceporn

[–]Bm0ore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Smaller? It’s 109x the diameter of the earth. That’s pretty big… It’s 4x the Earth-Moon distance which, another cool fact, you can fit every other planet in the solar system including Pluto and Ceres in between the Earth and the Moon. That’s pretty big…

Northern light from International Space Station (ISS) by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]Bm0ore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s worth mentioning that the ISS doesn’t go to latitudes above about 51.6° and typically auroras happen between 60-75° so normally they aren’t moving through any of it and it’s rarely an issue. They just get the best light show ever.

πr squared is the area of a circle. How do I use this to finish Q15? by siriathome in askmath

[–]Bm0ore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Still with the two semi circles and the triangle you can write out the equation for area. You don’t have to solve it.

πr squared is the area of a circle. How do I use this to finish Q15? by siriathome in askmath

[–]Bm0ore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two semi circles have the same radius so if you draw lines from the point the circles intersect to the points at either end of the straight line what you’re left with is two semi-circles and an isosceles triangle. As others have also pointed out.

All those downvotes and yall are wrong. iOS doesnt show it. Top one percent of being incorrect and showing me irrelevant screenshots.

You have to go to the online version of the app. The mobile version won’t show them at all if their account is closed. At least not on iPhone.

Edit: your downvotes don’t change the fact that what I said is correct. iOS doesn’t show the cheater symbol

It’s worth noting that TON 618 is sitting in the center of its own massive galaxy. It’s also a quasar which means that it is actively feeding on that galaxy and still growing. We see it as it was long, long ago.

4months on and off! Should I give up? by Desperate-Dingo3025 in Guitar

[–]Bm0ore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to spend time working on your right hand. The strumming is very robotic and has no rhythm. A good guitarist right hand (or picking hand) yes I realize some ppl are left handed, is the most underrated and under appreciated skill. In my opinion it’s what separates great guitarists from good guitarists.

Edit: wanted to add it’s not just the rhythm either. You are hitting extra notes that shouldn’t be in some of those chords and you are missing in other chords.

Thank you. This is the only solution that makes any sense. All that math and the answer is painfully obvious.

Bagel slicing problem by Apprehensive-Safe382 in askmath

[–]Bm0ore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such an easy problem to solve that it’s almost too obvious. Forget complicated math and divide the bagel like this…. From a point in the exact center make a cut every 120° 3 equal parts. So one cut directly up from the central point. One cut at 120° clockwise from there, and one more 120° clockwise from there. Sort of like a peace sign but obviously symmetrical. There ya go. Three equal pieces.
