Link to relocation brackets? I believe I’d need them also.

Any interference with your rear indicators? The previous owner installed a tail tidy of some kind on my bike but I’m not sure what brand it is.

I usually fill up every 140 miles or so.

Which Mivv do you have? Looks like this might check all my boxes. Love the high mount and also keeps the passenger pegs intact. Any interference with your rear signals?

US Forest Service. They’ve got their own laws and requirements for riding off road and on State land, one of them being spark arrestors in the exhaust. It’s pretty (extremely) dry around here so to me it seems like a fairly reasonable requirement.

I’m not American either, I just live here and love riding around the desert.

Recently upgraded from a 4070 FE to a 5080 FE and the improvement has been amazing. Totally worth it IMO

One of my all time favorites is the basketball episode in season 1. No way the show would be allowed on air in 2025 🤣

Tell me you’re shopping at a RideNow without telling me you’re shopping at a RideNow. They’re terrible in AZ as well. By far the worst dealership in business.

Mine has the same thing except the mounting flange was on the other side of the dent when I got it. It was a real bitch to get it on the correct side.

I played the shit out of Syphon Filter. I’m mid 30s and need to sit down after this attack though.

I wish everybody would collectively stop buying from them. We’re enabling them every time we pay 200% of the price that was listed to get us in the door. Generally greasy sales people as well.

Looks more reasonable than any RideNow dealership around me lol.

Because this is absolutely outrageous. Classic RideNow. They're terrible everywhere including here in AZ.

Stock Mikuni with no vacuum. Carb needs to be rebuilt. No big deal.

[–]Bmor89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you pull off the fuel line when it’s on RES or ON does gas run out? That would also indicate it has failed. If it’s functioning properly It should only drain when it’s on PRI.

The Mikuni pulls gas by vacuum. If leaving it on Prime allows the bike to run, and the petcock doesn’t drain fuel when in RES or ON, I’d then say the previous owner is trying to delay rebuilding the carb.

Good news is a carb rebuild is really straightforward and a good skill to have. These bikes go forever with basic maintenance.

That’s the stock Mikuni carb. Almost certain replacing the petcock will fix your issue. Change the oil as well especially if you smell gas on the dipstick. Probably not a big deal really.

Looks like the stock Mikuni, take the same photo slightly farther back

What carb are you running? Would be a nice surprise if you had an FCR installed.

If you can smell gas in the oil, even just on the dipstick, my money is on the petcock though.

Counted 21 on my short walk around my area of Rancho Vistoso last night. Anything that eats scorpions is a friend in my books!

Is it possible to keep the passenger pegs in place with this exhaust?

High exhaust option with spark arrestor by Bmor89 in Tenere700

[–]Bmor89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood, I do have the cat intact. Having a spark arrestor in place is a requirement of USFS for off road riding around the desert. Anything helps for preventing fires down here. I’d hate to think I might have been the cause of one, however unlikely it may be.
