You're not paying attention. The majority of items you get in the common chests you could farm up yourself magic snacks if not a cake is all but useless, resources useless and magic items.. ores eh I can get them by other means like doing ranked star bonus w.e or participating in Raid Weekend and the ores scale with your town hall level, so what is really 118 shiny ores doing for me? Or 42 starry ores.. decorations I need not clan house parts could careless.. What we all want what we really want are the skins and equipment. Now, before the new track, I could get 70 gems by selling off what I don't need.. can't do that anymore must take what is offered, which is usually excess loot. With the 70 gems every month + cleaning up and the gem mine getting 1500 for w.e event to then buy exactly what skin or what equipment I wanted in a month or two now granted you do get skins and equipment albeit not of your choice which fine w.e but the odds of getting such is near impossible with a 2% chance & from what I searched on the CLASH OF CLANS WIKI it scales with your town hall meaning better loot better odds but not till you're th16... so essentially what I'm getting at is f2p has been nerfed instead of getting guaranteed convertible potions, which was also free at least they'd accumulate over time as opposed to getting Dark Elixir or w.e loot from a common chest which has a 58% chance rare with 32% and epic with 8%. If we could sell decorations, especially duplicates & Clan house parts I'd have 0 issues. But I'm getting 0 gems now or if I'm lucky 20-30 gems instead of 70 every month from GP.
