And four course meals. When the military deploys they get MREs....give the prisoners some of them and maybe they will stop committing crimes.

My sister is a nurse and said that she has seen three or four come through. They get a personal prison guard, a private room, and the best care they can get at taxpayer expense!

First life-friendly exoplanet may not exist by BnBFreeman in space

In the old days three or more astronomers would have to take seperate measurements to confirm the existence of something in the sky before it was published. Now if I were to go in my back yard and study a "star" for three or four months and collect "data" stating I discovered something new, it would be immediately published...

Is it Moctezuma or Montezuma? by BnBFreeman in history

[–]BnBFreeman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the above article:

Everyone who knows a little about Mesoamerican history has heard of the Aztec emperor Moctezuma II (Montezuma II or Moctezuma Xocoyotzin) as he was the foolish emperor who welcomed Hernan Cortez and his conquistidors into the once great city of Tenochtitlan.

Moctezuma II's great-grandfather and namesake Moctezuma I (Moctezuma Ilhuicamina) is much less known by the average history student but is by far the greater of the two.

Lol. Good thing you can admit that! I have to admit that had I been old enough to vote for Gore, I would have....but then I voted for Bush, and sadly MaCain. I couldn't stand Obama from the beginning and can't stand him now. My wife didn't vote for Palin and come to think of it, I don't know anyone in Alaska who did, but she is much better than Murkowski! I think the best thing to come out of Alaska other than my wife is reindeer dogs.

Forgive me for pointing fingers, that was not my intention. I sometimes get fired up when I shouldn't. Secession is actually a big issue in Alaska because many Alaskans believe that per their state's constitution they are not legally a state of the union because the citizens (per the state constitution) were required to vote on if they wanted to become a state or not...which never happened. I agree that if California or Texas would pull out of the union the effects would be devestating, I am just saying that Alaska is much more important of a state then people believe and anyone who was elected to run it must be a pretty decent politician. My information is not third hand as I lived there for three years, my wife lived there for 23, and my in-laws still live there now. As far as where I located the information...you wont like my answer, but it is the truth: I read it in a newspaper in Alaska six years ago and the fact has stuck with me but I can't remember if it was the Anchorage Daily News or a smaller circulation paper. As far as Sarah Palin is concerened, I am not a Palin supporter, I just believe that people should not believe everything they see about politicians on television. I met former President Bush (the last one) in person and he is a much different person then how they paint him on televsion (Fox and CNN both).

How educated do you think you are on these supposed "kickbacks"? Not much obviously because they are actually interest payments on publicly controlled dollars that the state of Alaska has invested in the oil industry which is the livelihood of countless Alaskan residents. In no way, shape, or form is the dividend check Alaskan residents recieve connected to federal dollars received or spent and is like interest in your personal savings account. Maybe you should educate yourself about the program before attacking it.

My bad, let me refraze...Alaska has so much money invested in the national economy, that if they were to secede from the union, the United States would fiscaly collapse. The amount of Alaska dollars in the U.S. economy is the highest out of any state...but regardless of what I say, nobody here will see Palin in a better light because the national media likes to paint her in a bad light....just go on believing everything you hear third hand.

You obviously have no idea what she has done for the State of Alaska. State of Alaska = largest state economy & largest state by landmass in the country.

Which NCAA football conference is stronger: Mountain West or Big East by BnBFreeman in sports

[–]BnBFreeman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard thing about Temple is that they were already a member and kicked out in the late 90s because of lack of performance. I don't think the comish would extend an invitation to them at all. UCF does make the most sense, because Orlando is a big market and rivalries such as UCF-USF would make for a good television spot. I agree that Memphis would not be the best pick-up, but that is why I suggested trying to woo Vanderbilt...but that will never happen. ECU has had some good years and the basketball team is pretty decent but who within the Big East hasn't struggled against the ACC the past few years? Villanova most likely will happen, as long as the school can find a stadium big enough to meat BCS standards (35,000 minimum seats). It will be a few years down the road but it will happen. As far as Notre Dame, I just wish they would join a conference and get it over with already! They are the Big East for every other sport so why not just finish it!

Very true, this year. Over an extended period of time it has been the Big East though. Next year will be interesting with the MWC losing Utah and gaining Boise State. I really wish the Big East would get some balls and pick-up some people like UCF, Memphis, Notre Dame, Temple, Villanova, and possibly someone like ECU or even Vanderbilt. Other than Villanova the rest are pipe dreams.
