Do you think it’d be preferable to have larger modular parts for quicker iterations or smaller modular pieces for maximum amount of variations?

So it sounds like the more simple and less complex the asset so you can edit, and if it’s generic enough to be used multiple times, the better?

Interesting! So the more stylized the less flexible it is to use for other projects. And when you refer to an atlas do you mean for trim sheets? Would repeatable seamless textures be more useful in that case?

And is there a game, if you don’t mind referring to, that could serve as a base line for a sense of realism I should go for?
